The Greyhound Picnic

First let me explain something important.   My Gram says she is old and that old people need a day off every now and then.   She refused to take dictation from me this week-end and instead, sat around and ate bon-bons.     I think this is just a lousy excuse.   How old do you think my Gram is, anyway?   Sometimes she acts like 100, but she says she is only 57 and working backwards.    Ha!

It's bad enough that she didn't help me write stuff, but then I found out that she and my Mom went to
A Social Event.    They went to The Greyhound Picnic and worse yet, they didn't take me.    They didn't take Bob either and that's really said because  Bob thinks he is a Greyhound.   Or a Rabbit.    I'm going for Dumb Bunny, myself.   That's Bob alright.

Our friend Diane Ward is a VIP with Virginia Greyhounds and if you want to learn some more about the work this fine group does, you can ask your Mouse to take you to We Love The Greys  Every year they have a wonderful picnic and everyone has a good time, while the poor Princess sits at home alone.    Can you believe it?

My Gram said there was one really fun event called Blur of Fur, where the Greyhounds got to see how fast they could run.   Bob is so depressed he can hardly stand it.   The last time the Greyhounds were at our home he got to race around with them in our backyard.     Bob is a Big Pest, but I tell you, he is FAST!

Our other wonderful friend and Photo Taking Queen, Bev Hollis, was at the picnic yesterday and taking all kinds of wonderful photos of the hounds.   When she is through sorting through them, we'll ask her to send us some action shots to put on our Blog so you can see some blurred fur or something fun.    Bev also works with greyhounds living in another country, but they aren't called Greyhounds there.  They are called Spanish Galgo.  If you want to know more about the important work that Bev does with this group you can Learn About Operation Scooby by clicking and then looking at Links.

Here is a photograph that Bev took of one of Diane's Greyhounds.    This is either Amy or Molly.    They are sisters and frankly, I can't tell them apart.     Fortunately they have their names sewn onto their collars, and I bet that's how Diane knows which one is which too.     Bob told me that when the girls were here in our yard they told him a secret.   They said that they switch their collars all the time when Diane isn't looking and she doesn't have a clue which one is which.      Ha.    That's very funny.      Don't tell Diane.

Like you didn't have enough to distress you BUT, I have it on good authority that there were dogs at that greyhound picnic that were NOT greyhounds!!! So, why, I must ask, were you at home?
    Evidence to follow soon!
