Top Ten List
The Princess has just been informed by some of her friends that The Bulldog has finally made the Top 10 List of the American Kennel Club. It's about time, I'd say.
Now that we are on the list, I'm sure we will move up fast. If you would like to see more about this informative poll and vote for your favorites, you can just ask your mouse to take you to American Kennel Club's website and you can read all about it. I don't think the Bulldogs they picked to be in their photographs are very nice looking, but then, that's just my opinion.
I am, of course, probably the most beautiful bulldog in the known world.
The Kennel Club people said that "the bulldog is both docile and adaptive and can thrive in small or large homes and is an excellent all-around famly pet".
I have a few things to say about this. I don't believe that I am the least bit docile, but I certainly can adapt to almost any situation. I put up with Bob, now don't I? As for the small or large homes part, I must say, I prefer larger homes, as I have a lot of toys and collars and need a lot of storage space. And then, I need room for all of my beds and blankets. As for the family, they are certainly here to serve me, so they can stay.
According to the AKC, the bulldog - described as a "thickset canine, with a low-swung body, sagging snout and wide shoulders, last made the Top 10 list in 1935 when it placed 10th".
I most assuredly have something to say about this. I resent being put into a group of thickset canines with low swung bodies and sagging snouts. I do have rather wide shoulders for a Princess, but that's all the better to hold my Royal Robes. I really think that if the PRESS had interviewed me and taken my picture, a lot more people would be voting for Bulldog Rule.
In any event, I guess I'll have to start some sort of campaign in 2008 to get the Bulldog's of the World moved up that list until we are in our rightfu spot at Number One. Numero Uno. I would think that the Black Lab who is number one is rather tired of hanging on to the spot by now.
Let me know what you think about all of this, won't you? And if you can find a more attractive Bulldog then me, The True and Rightful Princess, just let me know.
Love and Licks,
Daisy
