The Heart of Daisy

               Hello Everyone

It's Springtime in Virginia and I wanted to take that opportuntity to let you have a new photograph of The Princess compliments of our wonderful Bev Hollis.     It's nice to have these lovely photographs, which Miss Bev sends to us like magic when we ask her nicely.

So here I am Princess Daisy.   Laying in the Springtime SunShine on our deck.   Life is good.

Actually, my Dear Friends, The Princess has some sad news for all of you.    You see, I am very ill.
It is because of my Heart which isn't working so well and I guess, from what the doctor says, it won't work right ever again.    I am, however, as you know, a very strong Princess and I am going to do all of the things that my doctor wants me to do.

First off, I want to say thank you to DOCTOR Bev Hollis, because in addition to being a wonderful photo taking person, she is also a wonderful veterinarian (is that spelled right?  The Princess never knows about these big words).   In any event, on Friday at lunch time (which I missed), My Mom and My Gram took me to see Dr. Bev at Loudoun Vet Clinic in the little town of Purcellville, Virginia.  It's very pretty in our part of Loudoun County, don't you think?

So Dr. Bev took a look at The Princess and asked my Mom and my Gram to very quickly drive to The TLC Hospital  (which I thought stood for Tender Loving Care, but evidently stands for The Life Centre)   At that place, I was formally introduced to my new doctor, Dr. William Tyrrell, Jr.    That is a lot of names, but Dr. Tyrrell said we could call him Bill.     I think I will call him Dr. Bill.     I immediately fell totally head over tin-cups in love with him, and even though I am very scared about my future, I feel like I am in the best possible hands now.

Dr. Bill has cared for many of our clients including Trixie Pelletier, Boscoe Muscarella and Tyler Greiner and that is only a few.    He also takes care of my next door neighbor Willie, who I find extremely annoying sometimes when he decides to come and visit and doesn't call first.   He doesn't know that I like him very much (not many dogs have THAT honor) and so I would at least appreciate time to lick my face first before he sees me in disarray.    Anyway, back to me and Dr. Bill.

So it appears that The Princess has severe right sided cardiac enlargement, which is probably caused by a very large tumor on the top of my heart.  It is squeezing my poor aortic valve and so has caused right side congestive heart failure.   Wow.   That is a long list of things wrong with one little heart, isn't it?   It's very fancy, as befits The Princess.  I'm not certain that Dr. Bill should be holding a cat in this photograph, but I guess kitties have problems in their hearts too.   Isn't Dr. Bill very handsome?

Dr. Bill took some living pictures of my heart while I laid very still for him on his magic table.   My Mom and My Gram got to actually see my heart beating and see the pictures of my valves and my tumor.  My tumor is very ugly, by the way.    I don't like it at all.  Unfortunately, Dr. Bill said it is not in a position to have an operation to get it away from me, so I am going to have to learn to live with it.    Bad News.

Good News.   I could not have a better doctor or a better hospital.    They promised that The Princess would always get the royal treatment.   If you would like to meet Dr. Bill you can ask your Mouse Man to quicly take you to Cardiologist to The Princess      If you want to learn all about the hospital in case you need a special doctor or you have an emergency you can ask your Mouse Man to fly you to Tender Loving Care         I know it is really THE LIFE CENTRE but I like to hear  about Tender Loving Care which is what they are planning to give me.

And so my friends, that is the story of my heart problems and the sadness that currently flies around in our home.   I just want you all to know that we are allowing ourselves to be sad only until tomorrow, and then we are going to start again to be happy and to live life to it's very fullest, one wonderful day at a time.

And in case you were wondering, don't forget that The Princess is presently accepting gifts and treats.  Pink is my favorite color, of course, and since treats are presently the only food product I care to eat, it really doesn't matter which kind you send me.

I also want to tell you that there may be some days when I am not feeling so great, and even though he is totally a Stupid Head, Bob has said that he would be happy to try the Blogging Business and see what comes out.  About this, I am very concerned, but we'll give it a try.  Maybe.  I doubt it.    I'm sure he can't spell at all.  Did I tell you that last week he ran into a tree?  Yipes.

So love and licks from The Princess.   Remember to say some prayers and think about me every day because this is going to be a big help in keeping me strong.   And the treats.   Don't forget.

Daisy

    Dearest Princess
This is really irritating news about your heart tumor but being on YOUR heart it is probably a very sweet and funny tumor if you got to know it. Which, judging from what you say, you will have ample time to do given that it is not going anywhere.
I'd like to say that I am SUCH a kindred spirit because PINK is the only color on the planet that matters and I have shelves of different pink shoes - oh ,and several shelves of pink sneakers...and then there's the pink boot shelf. So I may have you trumped from the pink adoration point of view, but then you are not allowed to have shoes at all, pink or otherwise, so maybe it's not a fair comparison.
As for those treats you so earnestly are soliciting (playing the "heart tumor" card is pretty well guaranteed to get you some action) I do happen to have some awesome chic little paper bags of The Honest Kitchen's new treats called PECKS, SMOOCHES & NUZZLES (made of real duck, cherries, blueberries, aged parmesan, organic virgin coconut oil - i kid you not, these folks are nutty, this stuff is way better than human kids get) So if you'd pass along your mailing address I'll wrap them in some PINK tissue paper and send them right out to your people to unwrap quickly and stuff them in your face.
    Love from,

    Dear Auntie Tracie

Thank you so much for sending me these treats.     They sound delicious and I know that you are all about healthy treat items, am I not correct?   I will ask my Gram to send you the location of our mailing box and I will be very excited the day my treats arrive from you.

I know that my Mom is going to be on your radio show in July, I think, and you can bet that I will be listening with all my heart (and the pesky tumor thing)

You go with your pink boots!

    Love and Licks,
    The Princess

    Hi Daisy,

I have always included you and all of our co-workers pets in my prayers, but I will be adding a special one for you every night.

Take it easy and let everyone wait on you, that is what Princesses do. As you know, we have that in common. You are the Princess in your home as I am in mine.

Keep your spirits up and the treats handy.
