Ben & Jeff

I can remember when our company consisted of my Mom and my Gram.   Those were "the good old days", although if you ask my Gram, she might not agree.    Gram used to hold the company record for the number of visits done in one day.   I think it was 29.    All Gram says that she remembers is getting up at 4:30am, hitting the road by 5am, and not falling back into bed until midnight.     My Mom was sitting on the beach in California.    For a long time after that, my Gram didn't have much to say to my Mom.

And now we are all grown up and have many, many, many fine sitters working with us, so poor old Gram doesn't have to go out to often.    Well, except for yesterday.   Gram says yesterday was like old times.    She didn't sound very happy when she said it, however.    And then there is my Mom.   Last night my Mom slept with some dogs in the little town of Aldie.  But, she also saw some kitties in Centreville.   And a dog and some cats in Lucketts got the pleasure of her company.   So if anyone ever says that if you own a company you can then sit around and eat bon-bons, that person is not being truthful with you.

So where was I?   Oh, yes.    I wanted to welcome one of our newest sitters who is a wonderful man by the name of Jeff Mosher and tell you that there is every possibility that you might see him out and about in our newest service area which really has no true boundaries, but includes some of these lovely towns:
Vienna, Tysons Corner , Dunn Loring, Oakton, Merrifield, Fairfax, west Falls Church, most of Great Falls, most of McLean.

This is of course, a lot of spaces and places for one person, but that is how it goes in the beginning.  My Gram and my Mom always laugh about the very first Fourth of July that we were a real company.   My Gram was sleeping with some dogs in Middleburg, and taking care of a little dog (four times a day) in Belmont Country Club and also taking care of a dog (two times a day) in Lovettsville.    Good thing my Gram was much younger in those days.     Now my Gram considers walking from her little apartment next door to the office as a "long commute"

And since we are officially welcoming Jeff to our company, we thought it would be fun to welcome one of Jeff's new customers, a fine young dog named Ben

Actually this little dog has a very large name which is Benjamin Leo.  Leo is a "family name".  Poor little sweet Ben found himself a stray at the Faquier ASPCA.   Fortunately for Ben his new Mom came along and rescued him and now he has a very fine home indeed and a very fine dog-walker of his very own.   I think that Ben still has a little bit of sadness in his eyes, but I know that will pass.   Being "on the street" is a very difficult thing for any dog, but that is something Ben will never, ever have to worry about again.

Perhaps I will send Ben a few of my fine Wagatha's Dog Biscuits.    I bet that would make him very happy!  I would much rather share with Ben than share with Bob, my Stupid Head Sibling.    Today we caught Bob taking a dust bath.    Truly.    Rolling over and over and over down our driveway in the dust and dirt.   You should see him.   When he walks, poofs of dust fly off him.      Ben would never be that stupid and that is why he is going to get a biscuit from The Princess.

Love and Licks and Welcome Kisses to Ben and to Jeff,

The Princess
