Mr. Pete Bethune

Do you remember back a few Blogs Ago, when I told all of you about The Earthrace People and how wonderful they were doing in their Race Around The World and telling all of us that there were many, many ways to fuel your motors that would be GOOD for our earth, not BAD for it?  So you remember?

Well, the Princess always feels that it is good to be Proactive and that sometimes the things and the people I write about, like Mr. Pete Bethune who is the Captain of Earthrace, will be too busy to know that I am around and am Busy with my Blogging.   So.   What to do?  I just find some kind of e-mail address that I think will work and I send them my copy of that day's Blog.  Sometimes they do not answer me, like that guy Kojo on the NPR show, who I am still waiting for a comment from about concentrated water, but all the wonderful people do answer me.

Here is what I wrote to Mr. Bethune, who I think I can now call Mr. Pete:

Dear Earthrace People

I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself so I can come ride on your boat.

I am Princess Daisy, the spokesdog for my Mom's wonderful company called Everything and The Dog.   Perhaps if you are reading Bark Magazine in your spare time, you will see how beautiful my Mom is (and of course, I am pretty wonderful myself).

I need to come and ride on your boat.   I don't want to play the I Am Dying Card too often, but I do happen to have a tumor on my heart so I want to live life to it's very fullest while I still am here in Northern Virginia, and of course, taking a ride on your boat would make me one happy camper, I can tell you that.      Don't feel sorry for me, please, because I have had a wonderful life and thanks to my wonderful doctor, I am planning to be in the Blogging Business for some time to come.

So thank you for listening to me and for thinking about having me join your crew when next you come to The United States of America.

Keep up the good work........ (oh, and Mr. Bethune - that part about you boiling up the fat in your kitchen to make a couple of gallons of fuel for your boat was pretty disgusting...... you might think about trying to come up with a different way of explaining that part of the trip).

Love and Licks,
Princess Daisy

BTW, I sent you a picture of me and my Mom so you can see that we are very attractive and wouldn't spoil your image when you come to pick me up.  Thanks

Do you not think that was a fine letter to send on to Mr. Bethune, I mean Pete?

It must have worked because this is what he wrote back to me:

Princess Daisy.

Look it is possible you could come for a ride on Earthrace, but we are not likely to be back on mainland USA again. Or not in the near future at least. In October we will be going to Puerto Rico, Barbados, Panama, then Galapogos and Tahiti Islands. Between now and then we are topuring through Europe.

If you can make it to one of those places then i'd be happy to take you and your mother on a trip.

yeah that lipo story got a bit out of hand.

Cheers

Pete

So here is the plan, Pete:   I know that my Mom will be most happy to meet you in Tahiti in October or whenever you get there.   I guess Puerto Rico would be closer for her, so just let her know the time and the place and she will be there.

You may not want to tell my Mom that I made this little commitment for her.   I don't know if I will be around in October to make the journey, but if I am, you can count on one gorgeous Bulldog on your Boat.

Love and Licks,
Daisy.

Back to everyone I know.  Do you not think this is a wonderful idea for my Mom and maybe even for me.
Pete sounds like a swell guy and anyone saving the planet from the mess it is in is a Person of Quality.   You can click onto Mr. Pete's website by having your MP take you to Earthrace!  When you go there, tell them that The Princess sent you.
Thanks,

Oh, and be sure to tell them how beautiful my Mom is:

Here we are.   The two most gorgeous people in Leesburg, Virginia.   Mom?  Do we have bathing suits for our trip to Tahiti?  Mr. Pete will be sending us his address soon, so we need to start shopping.

Love,
Daisy
