2Dogs2000Miles
We have told you many, many times about our friend, Luke, and his two dogs, Hudson and Murphy, who are walking 2000 miles from Austin to Boston to fund the research for the cause of cancer. Of course, this is important to us, because you know how our friend Daisy felt about her heart tumor, and that, sadly she has passed away from us because of it.
But Daisy is still in our hearts, and soon, we are hoping, that she might be on a new calendar that will be coming out: The first ever Canine Cancer Memorial Calendar. It will be called "Cancer Can't Keep a Good Dog Down"
I'm really excited because some time in the very near future, Erich Trapp (who helps Luke and The Boys by sending out a newsletter so we always know where Luke is and what is happening).....anyway -- Erich is going to interview me. Bob. The Excellent Reporting PitBull. Can you just imagine that I will still be famous, even with Baby Lily to take care of?
So this is such exciting news about the calendar!
I'm going to tell you exactly what Erich says we need to do to be in the calendar. These are his words, but Mom said having an excerpt is an o.k. thing when you are trying to keep the world informed:
"If you (or someone you know) has had or currently has a dog with cancer, you are invited to submit your dog's photo and brief story to 2 Dogs. We ask you to please limit your submission to one picture per dog, and limit your story to 1 to 2 paragraphs per dog. There is no size restriction on pictures. So, if you currently have or have had a dog with cancer, here is your opportunity to honor him or her in the calendar. If you have had more than one dog with cancer, yes, you may definitely submit EACH dog's photo and brief story, but again, limit each story to between 1 to 2 paragraphs. Please submit your dog's photo and story to calendar@2dogs2000miles.org And of course give us not only your dog's name, but your name and contact email as well."
Bob talking again: So the deadline is November first to get your photo and story off to 2 Dogs, and in order to decide which dogs will appear in the Calendar there will be voting. Just like the voting for Mr. Obama and Mr. McCain, only with no bad words flying around. (the way things should be)
Erich talking again:
"Here's how voting will work. Starting on November 2nd, after the last canine cancer patient's photo and story has been submitted and all photos are up on our web site, voting begins. With a small donation of $1.00 per vote, everyone gets to vote for his or her favorite dog(s). For example, if you want to vote 10 times for your best friend Speckles, you would donate $10.00 for Speckles and he would then get 10 votes. Or you can split your votes. If you like several dogs, you would donate X number of dollars for each dog you like and each dog would get that number of votes. Even better - you can vote as many times as you want"
Bob talking again: Erich explains it pretty well, doesn't he. I wonder why the President of the United States can't be picked like this. Everyone would pay $1.00 to vote for the person they liked best and the money would go for a good cause. I guess that is just too simple.
Anyway you can vote until December 1. All the money will benefit 2 Dog and the walk to increase awareness of canine cancer and the urgency to find THE CAUSE. And get this part:
Erich talking:
"Now here's the other great news. No dog loses! While there will be only 12 dogs on the main calendar, each dog not chosen will still have his or her photo published in the back of the calendar. Every dog's photo submitted for the calendar will be published."

One day, not to long ago, The Big Dog (Luke) sent us this wonderful picture of Hudon in his ball cap! We need to get a ball cap that says Everything & The Dog and send it to Hudson, don't you think. We are working on it.
So here is Hudson:

My Mom hasn't decided yet which photo graph of our wonderful Daisy to send in to the contest. But I'll let you know in a few days and then, please vote for The Princess. Don't forget.
So if you have a dog with cancer, or who has passed away, please enter them into the Calendar Contest and then vote, vote, vote so we can help Luke, Hudson, Murphy and ALL the wonderful helpers at 2 Dogs, not only get to Boston, but get to help find the cause for The Big C.
It's Important.

I'm so glad you are going to enter Daisy into the Calendar contest. She deserves to win! Erich Trapp does a great job of keeping us updated with the going's ons of 2dogs200miles.org. I received a phone call from Luke Robinson one day which I thought was really sweet; he was thanking me for all the support I have given to his group. I was touched. I think what he is doing for canine cancer (and, other companion animals) is so terrific and I worry about him when the weather turns ice-cold this winter. He, and is amazing organization, are doing such great things. Thanks for reporting on this and I say, "Vote for Daisy!".
Woooof! Aroooooo! Blazer & Mom
Hi my friends!
I hope you understand that between being a full time Nanny to Lily, being a Reporter Extraordinary, and having even one tiny little momen to take a nap each day, I often don't get my mail answered and I don't want anyone to think I am not doing a good job.
I have so much to do and it scares me sometimes that I'll be forgetting all of my friends, so I have nightmares about the computer sitting on my head and banging my nose to wake me up. Yipes.
We will post our picture of Daisy as soon as the voting opens. I think we picked an excellent story and picture about how she was so brave and wonderful and what she really thought about having cancer in the first place.
We think Mr. Luke is wonderful!
And we love Mr. Erich.
Your BFF,
Bob

Thanks Bob! Nutmeg Mom's here. You remember Nutmeg right? She was one of Daisy's BFF's and was called the Queen of Halloween. I think Nutmeg was channeling a message to me today to check out your Blog. I am so glad I did. I have already sent a picture of Nut for the calendar.
Thanks for your excellent reporting! This allows me to keep up with Leesburg even though I am in Canada.
Dear Miss Virginia
Of course I remember Miss Nutmeg! Daisy talked about her all of the time and now that Halloween is drawing near, we miss our Daisy and Nutmeg as it was pretty cool to see what kind of a costume competition they could come up with.
My Mom says those gals are at The Rainbow Bridge, organizing the biggest costume event ever. Everyone can enter and there are a whole team of special angels up there helping them sew the costumes.
I'm glad that you are working with our friends at 2Dogs. We love them and are helping Luke with his efforts whenever we can!
Love,
Bob
