The Dog Vote

O.K. this is probably the most wonderful thing that I have had to report about in at least 36 hours.   Now I KNOW I am a Report Extraordinary, in more than my own mind, because my Mom gave me a REALLY, REALLY BIG STORY to report on.

Guess where my Mom and my sister, Lydia went to last night?    A million guesses and you'll still never guess, unless I tell you a hint.   It was a Rally for Mr. Obama right here in Leesburg.    Oops.   I guess that was a bit more than a hint, right?  But I can't help myself.   In the most famous words of my BFF, Daisy.   "I'm so excited, I could just pee."

That is correct.  Mr. Barak Obama came here to our very own Ida Lee Park in our very own Town of Leesburg, in our very own State of Virginia.    Right here.  Yep.   In the very same town that I, Bob, live.  Oh my goodness.    My Mom says that even if a person did not think they would vote for Mr. Barak Obama, that still, the opportunity to see him in person and listen to him talking would be something that a person would never forget in their entire life time.     Certainly, my Mom says, it is one of the most amazing things that she has ever done, and I think she ranks it above White Water Rafting which she did one time only.

So my sister and my Mom had to stand in a very, very, very long line, for a long, long time, but once inside they got to stand on a bit of a slope, and so they had a very good view.    The crowd was enormous and people had driven to Leesburg from even other States so they could attend.

And here is something else I love about my Mom.     She ALMOST took me along!    There were a few dogs in attendance, and a lot of children too.    Some of the children were not very well behaved, but ALL of the dogs were perfect ladies and gentlemen.     I'm proud of my fellow four legged friends because as you all know we are all campaigning to have The Obama Family adopt a dog once they figure out where they will be living come January of 2009.

Here is some more information for you which I think is very wonderful.

I found a pretty neat web site arrival place when I asked my MousePerson to help me out finding about if Dogs could indeed Vote.    We went to The Dog Vote Official Spot    You can do all kinds of interesting things when you arrive here, including some shopping, which as you all remember was Daisy's favorite thing to do.    You can buy either a Obama Dog or a McCain Dog bandana, and when you buy a bandana, you get a vote placed.    I don't think that there are ALL that many votes placed at this time, so I'm hoping to help out by telling all my fans about this place to have fun.

There is an interactive map of the Bark The Vote states, there are some articles written by some interesting dogs, there are photo graphs, and be sure to check out the In The Press button so you can read all about Miss Cara Orfield who lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota (were it is already pretty darn cold, I bet).  Miss Cara thought up the idea to have this webbing place and so, you know what happens when creative people get an idea!  Off she went. And is rest is history, which is what some people say when a person gets a successful idea.

"Cara and husband Nolan own a poodle terrier named Stella. Neighbors Jeffrey Kemnitz and Marin Hoffman own a golden doodle named Barley.  Barley is credited with a blog on the site, which includes posts with titles such as “Britney Spears and John McCain Doggie Kiss” and “Barack Eats Bacon,” detailing information nuggets uncovered along the campaign trail."

So please!   Go visit my newest friends at www.thedogvote.com and HELP BARK THE VOTE!

Who are you barking for?
