Cancer Calendar: Last Minute Submission

We just got a wonderful reminder e-mail from our friends on the road, Luke (The Big Dog) Hudson & Murphy.   We wanted to send it out to all of our friends so that no one will forget to send their own personal picture and story to 2Dogs2000Miles for
Cancer Can't Keep a Good Dog Down

This is what they have to tell us!
2009 Canine Cancer Calendar

We are always looking for ways to honor and recognize our beloved dogs who have been touched by cancer.  What's unique about this calendar is that anyone can participate by submitting a photo of their pupper (passed or living) and a paragraph or two about their battle with cancer.

Once we've received all submissions, you will be allowed to vote for the 12 dogs that will make up the months of the year and the one with the most votes will be the Cover Girl... or Boy.

All entries will be included in the calendar.  Submission deadline is midnight EST November 16th.  Voting will commence within a few days after and for approximately two weeks.

We're just silly happy to have our dear friends at Tripawds partnering with us on the calendar.  They created a form for mindless gits like me to make the submissions process easier.  Thanks guys and glad to have you aboard.

Ten percent (10%) of the sales from the calendar will be donated to the Morris Animal Foundation's Canine Cancer Campaign.

I want to show you all the picture that we submitted of our wonderful Daisy, who as you know, crossed The Rainbow Bridge on August 18, of this year.    You all know Daisy...and you know that she had a LOT to say about everything.    She didn't think much about having a heart tumor and during her last photo session with our best friend, Bev Hollis, Daisy let everyknow know just how she felt:

Daisy wants everyone to know that she does not consider it cheating to show you her picture before the voting begins.   She said if no one had seen Mr. Barak Obama's beautiful face, then how would they have known about voting for him ahead of time?     And she says she is like Oprah.....she didn't endorse Mr. Obama ahead of time (not really), but she has no qualms about endorsing him now.

She is, however, concerned that he will pick the right RESCUE DOG for his family, so she is going to do some research from The Rainbow Bridge and see if she can't select the perfect pup for him and his family.   After all, she managed to find Lily for us, so we believe she can do it.

So check out the 2Dogs sight and help them to Puppy UP!    and Puppy Onward to... in spite of the inclement weather in Tennessee right now.

We told Big Dog to give the boys some warm milk with carob tonight to keep their tummies happy.   Big Dog can have cocoa!

Love and Licks,

Bob

Hiya, Bob! We are tickled that you put the 2dogs2000miles.org Calendar in your blog and it's good to see the photo of Daisy that you picked for it, too. I am, also, so happy that Luke is partnering with Jim & Rene from www.tripawds.com. They are wonderful people and I spend many, many hours on their website providing support to all the people who need resources, advice, solace and anything else you can think of. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim & Rene on October 29th of this year and I can tell you that they are two of the most down-home, warm & friendly people I have had the pleasure of meeting in a long, long time. Thanks for posting this, Bob! You're our "On the job reporter"! Keep up the good work.

Love, Vicki, Blazer & Kitty Kimber
