Hotel Monaco
When you travel it is very hard to leave your pets at home, isn't it? And that is why we have a business called Everything & The Dog. Because my Sister, Lydia, wants to be able to make it easier for people to go away and not to have to worry about their pets. But. What if you wanted to take your pet along with you? What if your pet throws a fit and thrashes around on the floor because it doesn't want you to leave it behind? What if you tell it you will bring it a nice T-Shirt, but that isn't really good enough?
I do not like it all when I am left behind. As a spokesdog for our company, I think I should be allowed to go everywhere. I have mastered the art of pathetic whining, but sometimes it doesn't work.
So my Sister discovered The Hotel Monaco and we think ALL hotels should be like this one. Here is what they have to say for themselves:
" Our Washington DC pet friendly hotel welcomes your entire family "
"The boutique Hotel Monaco in downtown Washington DC takes care of all its guests in style, including our four-legged friends, taking the term "pet friendly hotel" to a new level. We present you and your pet with registration cards upon arrival. After you're all safely checked in to your guestroom, we deliver food and water bowls, a bottle of Evian water, an information card with local veterinarians and pet sitting services listed, a map of great dog walks in the neighborhood and a special treat. Our pet friendly front desk staff keeps a stock of complimentary disposable dog walking bags and our room service menu offers food for pets.
Additionally, the luxury Hotel Monaco Washington DC offers Guppy Love, a complimentary goldfish to keep you company during your stay with us. Our housekeeping staff feeds and takes care of the goldfish - all you need to do is enjoy."

So you can bring your dog or your kitty and have a GOLDFISH TOO! Is that just not the very coolest thing? We used to have some fish in our home, but they passed away. That was sad. Now we have a turtle and two frogs in a box. Of course, I don't think that turtles or frogs (at least the alive ones) are very interesting and I don't think they would make good traveling companions, but I guess some people might think so and they might want to take their frog or their turtle to THE HOTEL too. Who knows?
And here is some more words about The Hotel Monaco in their own writing. My Mom says this is called a quote. Whatever.
"The hotel occupies what was once Washington D.C.'s General Post Office, built in 1839 by Robert Mills, the same architect to design the Washington Monument. Hotel Monaco Washington D.C. is conveniently located in the heart of Penn Quarter, a charming neighborhood just a short walk from the city's popular public transportation system, as well as some of D.C.'s most popular shops, restaurants and bars.
Indulging in the sights and sounds around town is a breeze from Hotel Monaco Washington D.C. It is located just minutes from the Spy Museum, National Portrait Gallery and the Verizon Center - home to the Washington Wizards, the Capitols, and the best concert venue in town."
So now I know that I could be traveling with my Sister or with my Mom and that we could go to Washington D.C. and see all of the monuments and I could take a nice walk, and maybe I could even introduce myself to Mr. Soon To Be Our New President Barak Obama, and help him with the work of selecting a dog for his family.
If you would like to find out all about this beautiful and historic and interesting AND VERY PET FRIENDLY hotel you can wake up your Mouse and ask it, please, pretty please to fly you away to Take a Virtual Tour
And guess what else? They have a BALLROOM. A real Ballroom, just like in Cinderella.
I would like to go to a Ball sometime. I can dance, remember, and I would be very polite and mind all of my manners. So if you would like a date for New Year's Eve, you could call me and maybe we could go to The Hotel Monaco. Don't you think that is a most excellent idea? I am so excited, I can barely wait.
Ready for The Ball,
Bob
