Four Calling Birds
Last night my Mom and I sat down and had a nice long talk. Today, I got a comment for my Blogging Business from my BFF, Erich, who has taught me a lot about blogging and also is always available to help me with some of my problems in my life.
I don't, as you might suspect, have a Dad and sometimes it is better to get a man's point of view when it comes to the really important things in life. Normally, I just answer my comments, but I don't want you to have to search around to hear this very, very, very important news. Here it is:
"Bob -- Has your Mom filled you in on the rest of the song? Do you know there will also be 12 drummers drumming, 11 pipers piping, 10 lords a leaping, 9 ladies dancing, 8 maids a milking, 7 swans a swimming, six geese a laying -- well, I could go on, but you get the picture. Have you given any thought to where you will put all these people? You will have to watch Lily very carefully as she is still small and all those people and animals tromping about might step on her. And the noise, Bob! The noise! You need to do some more research and make sure you REALLY want all these people and critters to show up on your doorstep after all. Good Luck! I tell you, if the UPS truck shows up, if I were you, I'd run and bar the door!"
And so, after much consideration and with a lot of sadness, I have decided to give up my quest to have live birds, live trees, lords, ladies, maids, swans, etc. come to stay with us at Christmas time. We do have one complete acre of our property which is nicely fenced and we have a very lovely tree house that Lydia's husband Pat has built. I thought that having the animals stay in the yard and the two-legs sleep in the tree house, would be perfect, but then there is the issue of feeding everyone and as Mr. Erich reminds me, the noise.
I do not really like a lot of noise. In our home, once the working day is over, I like to curl up on our couch and snuggle with Scarlett and Rusty and of course, my Mom. Mom says she really isn't in the mood to snuggle with drummer, pipers or lords and having raised geese at one point in her past life, she certainly doesn't want to clean up after six geese!
I have, therefore, changed the focus of my quest. Today, I picked a postage stamp. Don't you think that is a very clever solution?
Here it is:

I have found a most amazing place to go to Get Stamps I realize that I am probably a bit behind the times on this one, and maybe everybody already knows about ZAZZLE, but just in case, I am telling you some new news. Zazzle.com is a great place to design all of your own stuff. Can you imagine that I, Bob, could be on a stamp and helping to deliver your mail? My Mom says that we will do this the very first thing in the morning and then tell you when it is done and everyone I know can buy me to deliver the mail. Oh Wow.
I am much more excited about this than in having all those crazy days of christmas characters running around our home and our yard.
And so, with much renewed excitement, Happy Holidays from Bob!
And I invited the lady who desiged the stamp to come and read my Blog, too! I am so happy now. Mom says wouldn't it be nice if all our troubles were solved so simply? HA!

Oh, Bob,
Mom has been so far behind on your blog. We're so glad to hear that Erich explained about the ladies dancing, maidens milking, swans swimming, piper's piping... what a fiasco that would have been! Now, the stamp idea is really cool and I'm glad you shared the Zazzle site with us. Mom hadn't been aware of that, at all. Hang in there, Bob! You're going to have a lovely Christmas and it will be so peaceful for you. Love, Blazer & Mom
I always get so behind on my comments, and I just want everyone to know that it isn't because I don't love everyone, or that I don't think your comments are important, because they are. Very Important to me, I mean. And without them, I would be very sad because then I would think that no one wants to read what I am saying.
My resolution for the 2009 coming up soon Year, is that I will be more faithful about posting my comments and will try not to miss them, ever.
Love,
Bob
