The Eve of The New Year
In only a few short hours it will be time to find your party hat and get ready to celebrate the starting of a New Year. That would be 2009. My Mom says that we all need a New Year around our home right now. As many of our friends know, 2008 wasn't all that hot.
As some of you may remember, Daisy had quite a lot to say about me, poor Bob, last New Year's. She posted some photo graphs of me that were (although taken by our wonderful Miss Bev) not all that flattering. Poo. Just because I was doing some stumbling around in the driveway, having had just a bit too much sparkling cider at my sister's home. Sometimes Daisy was a bit mean to me, but in looking back, I could not have traveled down the road of my life this far, without having had Daisy to help me out.
Fortunately, I kept some beads and feathers this year and so was able to start getting dressed early, although my Mom says she thinks there may be some adjusting to do before the Party Starts.
I was hoping to get another Pig's Ear at tonights festivites, but again, Mom reminds me that they weren't all that good coming up the next day. Oh Yeah. O.K. So skip the Pig Ear and I'll settle for Ms. Diane's Cheesecake, of which there is still a small portion left from Christmas Day. Yum.
My Mom has a big evening planned for us dogs. We are staying home and baby-sitting the BigBaby, Miss LIly, and lounging on the couch to watch a large ball fall down in New York City. Except for the cheesecake or the cheeseballs (we might have some of those too), it might not sound so exciting to everyone, but to us it sounds pretty good. Rusty and Scarlett are helping with the baby too, so there will be four of us dogs and my Mom. We need her because she knows how to make the remote go for the television. Well, and besides, she is going to write down all of our resolutions for the New Year.
Mom says it is always appropriate to write out a long listing of all of the things you plan to do, or change, in your life for the coming year. Then you try to improve yourself. I am going to start by asking for a different Party Hat for next year, although I do like the color of that feather. That shade of green goes good with my fur.
So Happy, Happy New Year's Evening to all of you, two legged, three legged and four legged. (I wanted to make sure our tri-paw friends get noticed). Maybe tomorrow I'll share some "resolutions" with you.
Love and Licks and a tickle with my feather!

Bob my boy - what a tickle feather that is! What sort of headdress is that, anyway? Is has a Native American touch to it, other than the day-glo green. I assume it has to do with tonight's festivities, in which case, PARTY ON!
Hi Auntie Tracie!
Wow, I am so glad to hear from you. You like my hat then? Actually, the top is like you might push up your sunglasses onto the top of your head when you don't want to loose them. But it was my Green Hornet Mask instead. It's pretty fine, I think.
Mom says that is why I look so serious, because it was hard work to get the feather at the right spot above my ear. Or beside my ear. I like it!
I'm going to chase everyone around tonight and TICKLE THEM FOR SURE!
Mom says to be sure to tell you to kiss someone right at the tick of the clock to Twelve (tonight). If you wait until 12:01 then it would be tomorrow, but I'm not in the mood to figure out the complicated stuff. I'm looking for my NoiseMaker.
Love Forever,
Bob
