Honey
I told you Lily was growing up and now I have proof to show you!
All this time we have shared our office space with Honey. Honey is our Quaker Parrot who lives in a VERY LARGE cage right by our front windows. Very Large Cage. You can't miss it. Right next to Honey is another large cage for George who is our Sulphur Crested Cocatoo. George is, by the way, not at all friendly. He had a rough life, but more about that later.
Honey is very, very friendly and actually likes the dogs. Well, except for one dog who was visiting here, but that also is another story and happened before I was born.
So.
Today Lily discovered Honey. I have no idea where Lily was (in her brain) prior to this happening, but do you know how all of a sudden a place gets very, very quiet? And you notice it because you are used to the noises happening in the background all of the time? And then, voila', you can actually hear the quietness? We ALL looked up and this is what we saw:

It was a staring contest, that's what my Mom says.
I think that before now, Lily was just too short and wasn't really looking up a whole lot of the time. Because of this she only saw the "legs" of Honey's home, not the ground floor and the kitchen (seed bowl), which is where Honey hangs out most of the time.
Now that Lily knows about Honey I am sure they will become friends. Lily is VERY interested in Honey and all of her body parts. Lily doesn't understand about feathers, obviously. Or the beak, which we explained to Lily is like a nose, only very sharp and could be quite uncomfortable should Honey decided to use it in anger. We also explained to Lily that Honey's cage was just like Lily's crate, only high up and taller. Lily also wonders why Honey is such a messy eater and has thrown her food everywhere. This, as the other dogs know (but didn't share that information with Lily) is quite a little treat. Honey spends the greater part of EVERY DAY eating. It's like her job. Sometimes she (on purpose) throws seeds or nuts or something else quite tasty OUT of her cage and ONTO the dog who happens to be passing by. For some reason Rusty is her favorite target.
Now we will have to give Lily "Honey Lessons". Oh boy. This will be a real task, for sure. Since I, Bob, am the Nanny around here, I am guessing that I, Bob, will be issued the position of Honey proofing Lily. Or Lily proofing Honey. You get the picture, don't you? HA! As if I don't already have enough jobs! Yipers.
So that is the BIG NEWS for the day from our home. I will be updating you on a regular basis about this evolving relationship.
Love and Licks from me, Bob

Oh and by the way, the hair in the top of the picture on the right side, is the hair of my Mom. My Mom has nice hair when you don't see the grey parts. And that red ribbon is not part of my Mom, so please do not think that my Mom wears ribbons and bows in her hair. Thanks,

Oh my gosh, I just cannot believe how big Lily is getting! She seems like she is very patient with Honey, which is good. It is so good to see a picture of her with the bird. We need to see more pictures of Lily!

Hi my good friend!
Have you missed me? My silly OLD Mom fell down our stairs and broke her right wrist and even had to have some surgery! For one full month I have been forced into retirement. Well, guess what? The rest period (as MOM calls it) is over!
I'll be back in the Blogging Business very shortly (as soon as I answer all of the built up mail!)
Give YOUR Mom (who I am sure is NOT a Klutz) a big kiss and tell her it's from me!
Bob is Back!
