Oliver and Meryl
But here is a happy, happy story about Oliver and Meryl. Two more of the Victory Dogs who are now living together as roomies!

Oliver is the black and white and beautiful, beautiful Meryl is on the left of him! I think I am in love with Meryl. Except for I still love Isaboo Ray. Anyway.
So ask your Mouse Person to take you to Read a HAPPY TAIL And when you are done reading, be sure to donate some money to our friends at Best Friends, because they always need help.
Here is some of what Mr. David Dickson has to say about Oliver & Meryl.
"When they first came to Best Friends, neither one was ready for doggie friendship. Oliver was so shy and nervous that anything new felt scary. Whether learning how to go on car rides or just seeing new equipment in the play area, Oliver didn’t like anything outside the “norm.” (He’s come a long way since then.)
Meryl, one of the stars of National Geographic’s “DogTown,” had her own issues to work through. The whole concept that people could be friends was a brand new idea that took some getting used to. But she got there. In fact, Meryl now loves people so much that she sprints toward them and doles out slobbery kisses every chance she gets!
Always on the lookout for more ways to help the Vicktory dogs, their caregivers have been taking them on supervised play dates. And Meryl and Oliver hit it off so well, time after time, that it seemed they could even become roomies. They decided to give it a try."
And when you read the rest of the story, you will learn about a tagging game of hiding and seeking that Meryl & Oliver play all the time. And Lily and I play the very same game, so perhaps it is a Bully Breed kind of thing?
For us, I chase Lily into one of our open crates, and then I drag her out by the foot; and then she chases me inside another open crate (we call them our boxes) and then drags me out by any part of me she can. We do this a LOT. Isn't it funny how some people say they cannot crate train their dogs? Or think having them in a crate is not fair? We use our crates (boxes) for everything and are very upset if the doors don't stay open.
Sometimes we play fight in the crate and then my Mom yells - "NO FIGHTING IN THE BOX" and right away we all tumble out and start over. The only tiny problem we have is that sometimes my sister Scarlett hoards toys in her crate and then she tells us to STEP AWAY FROM THE CRATE. Even though both Lily and I are wayyyyyyyyy bigger than Scarlett, we have learned that messing with her (especially if she has stolen paper towels and has them inside) is NOT a good idea. Have you ever seen a mad Rat Terrior?
So we are so happy for Oliver and Meryl and hope they have a long and very, very happy friendship. Goodness knows they and all the other Vicktory Dogs deserve it!
And BTW thanks to Molly Wald for her wonderful photo so you can see what our friends look like........hummmm --- Meryl or Isaboo? This is a hard one. Maybe I will be in love with both of them.
