Silly Lily and The Leprechauns
So I started telling Lily that they were Leprechauns here to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Oh Boy. She is one crazy BullDog about now.
First off, you know how low-slung and a bit chubby she is, right? Second, she can't jump half way up a tree like I can. Third, she believes just about anything I tell her. I told her yesterday that they would all have on little hats and be smoking little pipes by this morning.. HA! She thinks it is true and is so excited that I think she got up about five a.m. just to get outside and maybe catch one.
This is what a Leprechaun looks like: (I think)

Lots of times you see really silly pictures of them, but I prefer to show you the TRUE APPEARANCE of this little creature..... oops, Little Man. Actually he looks a lot like my Mouse Person. And believe me, several of the squirrels in our yard do have red beards.
In case you want to know more about them, here are some Bob-Found-Facts:
The name leprechaun may have derived from the Irish leath bhrogan (shoemaker), although its origins may lie in luacharma'n (Irish for pygmy). These apparently aged, diminutive men are frequently to be found in an intoxicated state, caused by home-brew poteen. However they never become so drunk that the hand which holds the hammer becomes unsteady and their shoemaker's work affected.
Leprechauns have also become self-appointed guardians of ancient treasure (left by the Danes when they marauded through Ireland), burying it in crocks or pots. This may be one reason why leprechauns tend to avoid contact with humans whom they regard as foolish, flighty (and greedy?) creatures. If caught by a mortal, he will promise great wealth if allowed to go free. He carries two leather pouches. In one there is a silver shilling, a magical coin that returns to the purse each time it is paid out. In the other he carries a gold coin which he uses to try and bribe his way out of difficult situations. This coin usually turns to leaves or ashes once the leprechaun has parted with it.However, you must never take your eye off him, for he can vanish in an instant.
And as you can tell, it is only the humans that the Leprechauns are hiding from and fooling. There is nothing said about PitBulls, so I think that by the end of the day today, I will be very rich indeed. I'm planning on finding myself a nice chubby Leprechaun and getting directions to the nearest Pot o' Gold. And, yes, I am sharing with Luke and The Boys. So there.
And so, in closing, I thought you would want to see Lily and get her opinion on this subject:
I'm not sure if by "this guy" she means me or the Little Man, but anyway, there is a really good chance, I'll find the Gold before Lily does. She is way too tired from chasing the Squirrels. HA
Happy St. Patrick's Day,
Bob

BTW, Lily's photo and surrounding comes from our BFF, Bev Hollis.
