The Honest Kitchen

This is so not fair.  I am being tortured here in our office.  My Mom is way too mean to me.

Yesterday the UPS man brought us a very large box from
The Honest Kitchen   These very, very wonderful people are helping prepare the Goody Bags for our Fabulous Event on April 24 when Ms. Tracie Hotchner is coming to our town.   Remember I told you all about that just a few days ago?   So arrives this big box and it is full of 100 little packages of samples of their yummy food.

Yep that would be 25 little bags of KEEN, 25 little bags of FORCE, 25 little bags of EMBARK and 25 little bags of THRIVE.   SEE HERE....THIS IS WHAT THE BIG BOXES LOOK LIKE.  But we got cute little sample bags.

DO YOU THINK I CAN HAVE ANY OF THESE SAMPLES?

OF COURSE NOT.     Bob, me, is expected to do all of the work around here, Blogging My LIttle Paws Off, taking care of LIly, chasing squirrels and organizing and promoting our event and proving to everyone that PitBulls are sweet dogs.   All of that, and can I get a sample taste?  Nope.  Nada. Nothing for me.

It's now 5:11pm and where is my dinner?   Mom says no dinner for me until the Blogging is finished.   Cruel, so cruel.

So we visited
The Honest Kitchen
on the Internet to learn all we could about their wonderful products and of course this made me drool even worse.    So unfair.
This is what the Wonderful Owners of The Honest Kitchen say about their fine products:

We love what we do, and we hope your animal companions will love it, too! We take pride in preparing fresh, healthy products that make a meaningful difference in pets' lives and in our world.

The Honest Kitchen provides natural human-grade pet food products that promote nutritional awareness, environmental responsibility, and a sustainable community. We aim to create a stir and provoke change - in individual animals and the pet industry as a whole. We operate with foresight, thoughtfulness, insight and integrity, and will be accountable for all that we do.

At The Honest Kitchen, we believe that our selection of fresh wholesome, human grade foods are much better than the cooked mixture of by-products, fillers and other processed ingredients being served to many unfortunate pets, day after day.

We offer four completely gluten-free, grain-free diets and all our products are guaranteed 100% wheat free.

All our grains are certified organic. Our meats are hormone, antibiotic free and our fruits and vegetables are guaranteed non GMO. Our Quinoa is certified fair-trade. "

That is amazing, isn't it.   My Mom says that it is wonderful food like this that will help dogs to fight off diseases like cancer.    If you dog eats better it will have a much better life, just like if the 2-legs would eat better.  This means my Mom needs to cut out the donuts in the morning.

And we have Ms.Tracie Hotchner to thank for finding The Honest Kitchen for us.   When our wonderful Princess Daisy was still living here on Earth, Miss Tracie arranged for The Honest Kitchen to send her a big care package of food and treats so we could encourage her to eat all her dinner.  How wonderful was that?  I bet Daisy is selling The Honest Kitchen up at  The Bridge.  Knowing Daisy she has an exclusive franchise.  HA.

Ms. Tracie said "Lucy Postins, who founded The Honest Kitchen had some crazy idea that dogs needed to eat nutritious clean food and they set about figuring out how to do that with ingredients that were healthy, fresh and even "people safe".  This was at a time when there was NO consciusness about pet food quality or ingredients.    I think The Honest Kitchen embodies the admirable example of doing something right, something you believe in, whether it makes total sense or not.   Lucy led the way through a very dark tunnel that only SHE saw as a lighted pathway, at a time when the idea of human-grade, raw, dehydrated food was more an object of disbelief and ridicule that looked at with the respect and admiration it has now."

And just Look at This:

Is this not a Happy Family?   And do not these dogs look healthy?  Of course they do.   Can you imagine having paretns who own The Honest Kitchen?   My Mom says they are happy because they are doing what they believe in for their working.   Just like my Sister, Lydia and all our dog walking/pet sitting helpers at Everything & The Dog.

This is also what we learned when we visited their very educational web-site:

"The Honest Kitchen is a private, family owned company. We’re located in the up-and-coming East Village near Downtown San Diego. We have a pet-friendly office and we’re joined by up to seven dogs each day. What do they love most about coming to work – the taste tests, of course! Though we like to think they come here each day just because they enjoy our company. Cupboard Love.

Our company began as the result of a search for a solution: Kibble and cans are not so healthy, raw is messy and costs a lot. What sort of food would offer the convenience of the former, with the health benefits of the latter? Dehydrated food was the answer. Read more here.

“We believe our pets deserve the same quality food that we’d choose for ourselves. That’s why all our recipes are made with 100% human-grade ingredients that you’d recognize from your own kitchen. Our recipes are prepared with care and uncompromising attention to detail, so you can serve them with confidence.”
Lucy Postins
Company Founder and Friend to Mosi & Willow.

Lucy Postins is a regular columnist for Fido Friendly Magazine  and writes on the subjects of pet nutrition and holistic health. She has also contributed to a number of other pet publications and appears as a guest on local tv stations for pet cookery shows and nutrition segments.

Protecting our Playground

We’re committed to doing our part in protecting and preserving the earth and its natural environment. That’s why all our recipes are packaged in a combination of USA-made, 100% recycled biodegradable paper and partially post-consumer recycled plastic, to keep the contents fresh. Our boxes are printed with soy-based inks. The inner bags are unprinted. "

So there you have it.   There are a bazillion reasons why you should consider this pet food and the treats and supplements.     I have just one reason.    A case of 100 sample bags.     I am figuring out how to get one of those out of the box and into my tummy.    I will not be denied.

Love and Licks,

Bob

Bob, you poor darling _ I am going to Fedex a large juicy organic grass fed steak to you- which is nearly as delish as Honest Kitchen's version of it! There's something you might not have known - Miss Lucy of The Honest Kitchen has been supplying all the food for 2 Dogs 2000 Miles, your good friends Luke and his Boys, Hudson and Murphy, as they trek across America reminding us how horrible pet cancer is. So doesn't her charitable generosity warm your heart? (I know, you still have an empty, rumbly tummy, poor dear).

WOW - Auntie Tracie.  That is so super.   I might do a weekly recap in my Blogging today (I'm still thinking on that one) but I will make sure that the word gets out about THIS.

Mr. Erich from 2DOGS told me that I better STEP AWAY FROM THAT BOX.  If I eat it dry I will blow up like an Elephant.  My Mom told me the same thing but when Mr. Erich speaks, I listen.   He knows what HE is talking about.  My Mom lies to me sometimes.

    Love and Kisses

    Bob
........waiting to see you on  April 24
