Update on The Obama Dog

Hi All.   It's me, Bob, your Boy  PitBull Reporter Extra Ordinary.    News Update from my BFF Moira at DOG ART TODAY

As you know, Miss Moira and I reported some news yesterday about Cappy, the Porty, being the new Obama Dog.   Well turns out we were not quite accurate in that assumption, but I say it was a wonderful piece of reporting on Ms. Moira's part and we were sort of close.    Seems there will be a Kennedy Connection in the White House after all, and his name will be Charlie  (sorta, maybe)

Please find your Mouse Person as quickly as you can and fly through cyberspace to visit  THE OBAMA DOG BLOG.    First you click  your mouse to DOG ART TODAY and THEN you click on this little picture and you are all set to go.             .

In case you didn't know how wonderful BOTH of Ms. Moira's Blogs are, you are in for a real treat as well as good information.
Here you'll find breaking Obama family dog news. Puppy watch. Political analysis of the First Dog. Breed speculation. Press coverage. Humor. Presidential dog art. Photography. And a look at the history of dogs in the White House.

So Ms. Moira has uncovered the TRUE FACTS this time.     And this is what she has to tell us!

Obama Dog is a Portie Named Charlie

TMZ is reporting that the Obamas' new dog will arrive on Tuesday, April 14, and it's not Cappy.  It is a male, six-month old Portie named Charlie with the same lineage from the same kennel as Senator Kennedy's three dogs.    Here's TMZ's story:

The black dog -- a male -- is approximately six months old. We've learned it was bred at the kennel and sold to someone who gave it back. The kennel is now "re-homing" the dog to the Obamas. The dog was named Charlie, but the Obamas will rename it.

Now here's where the Kennedys come into play. The kennel has sold the Kennedys three Portuguese Water Dogs in the past, all from the same lineage. The dog the Obamas will be getting is from the same lineage as the Kennedy dogs. The Kennedy family will be presenting th new dog
to the Obamas, but it's really coming from the kennel.

The reason this all sounds so technical is that there are issues regarding gifts to the Prez. The fact that the pup is being re-homed makes it all kosher.

So, it sounds like the First Dog is not Cappy Kennedy, but is from Cappy's kennel, Amigo Portuguese Water Dogs, and quite possibly from another litter by Penny, Cappy's mother.

SO THIS IS TODAY'S NEWS ABOUT CHARLIE AND CAPPY AND WE ARE VERY SERIOUSLY HOPING THAT THIS IS THE STRAIGHT SCOOP THIS TIME.     We think (actually this was a quote from my BFF Erich, that by the time the Obama Girls get their puppy they will be all grown up and not living in the White House)    HA.    That is a joke  of course, but we are all anxious to meet tne First Dog.

I am a bit concerned about something however and that is the part about them changing Charlie's Name to something else.  I think it is very important for two-legs to understand that once a dog has a name, that should be it.    There is absolutely nothing wrong with the name of Charlie.   It is a fine name, like mine, BOB.   It is simple and straight to the point.

I think everyone needs to tell Mr. President Obama and his Family that they need to let Charlie be Charlie.

So again, my thanks to Ms. Moira and her wonderful Blogging Business.   If you are not subscribing to Dog Art Today, you need to do it because it is so much fun and there is so much to see and do and learn and just everything.

Love and LIcks,

Bob
