You can learn all about OUR FRIEND TRACIE HOTCHNER when you Mouse Person Helps You to Fly through Cyberspace so you can visit her.
Today, April 13, Miss Tracie is on her way to University of California Davis to talk to vet students. She is truly all over the place this month, going to VA Tech on the 23rd of April and then coming to our town on the 24th.
One of the fine companies that Ms. Tracie Endorses is Platinum Performance and those fine folks have shipped us about three boxes of goodies for THE AMAZING GIAGANTIC SUPENDOUS GIANT GOODY BAGS that the first 100 or so folks will be lucky enough to receive. These bags are getting to be very big indeed and stuffed to the Brim, so be sure to send us an e-mail at lbest@everythingandthedog.com and you can make your reservations. Or you can send me, Bob, a Blog Comment and we will answer you. And you can Tweet us @BloggingBob or @daisydawgsmom . So .
Since you may want to know a little about Platinum Performance, this is what Ms. Tracie thinks about them:
PLATINUM PERFORMANCE PLUS: A VERY SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT
(Excerpt from The Dog Bible, written by Tracie Hotchner pp. 463-464)
I’ve only encountered a few products in researching this book—and in my years with dogs and other animals—that I really want to share with other dog lovers. Platinum Performance™ Canine Plus is a dietary supplement that is at the top of that list. It is a vitamin/mineral/glucosamine powder that you put on the dog’s food. It is formulated and made by an equine veterinary group in northern California, where I learned about Platinum Performance years ago because it helped my horse enormously.
When I began having lameness problems with my dogs—especially Yogi Bear, the foundling Rottweiler (who was thrown away in a box in the road because he was born without functional hip sockets), I wondered about the horse supplement for him. Cosequin (which is probably the best-known brand of glucosamine supplement for animals—see page TK) had not made a noticeable difference in Mr. Bear’s pain. That’s how I found out there was a canine version of Platinum Performance (the “Plus” is their formula
with 500 milligrams of glucosamine per tablespoon, versus 200 milligrams in the regular formula—Yogi weighed 120 pounds, so he needed the big boy’s dose). The product made such a miraculous difference in Yogi’s ability to get up and around without pain that I give it twice a day to all my dogs, young or old, whether they have physical problems or not.
Several friends whose dogs had joint problems (and had also tried Cosequin with minimal improvement) are now converts to Platinum Plus, too. My friend Eileen’s two six-month old Lab brothers (from a supposedly good breeder) would be so crippled after running on the beach that they would drag their hindquarters around, whimpering. Since going on Platinum Performance Plus they have never had another “paraplegic moment.” At eight years old, my friend Sharon’s Labrador, Becca, got a little brother. Even though she was fi t, her joints were so achy that she couldn’t play with him. Now on Platinum Plus she can outrun Toby in the woods (well, not quite, but she can keep up!). I feel sort of evangelical—as if I’m telling stories about people throwing away their crutches at Lourdes—but there are so many supplements out there, how can you know which ones work best? So this is a personal endorsement, but don’t doubt my motives: I pay the same as anybody else for the tub of Platinum Performance that FedEx brings to my door!
As you can see, this doggie has definately been on Platinum Performance...... I'm not sure if even I, Bob, super dog that I am, can do this:
WELCOME TO THE CANINE NUTRITION CENTER!

Our complete line of nutritional support formulas are specifically developed for use with Platinum Performance Canine Wellness and Performance Formula, making supplementing your dog’s diet easier and more effective, without the risk of over supplementing.
This is all a lot of information to digest, but sometimes it is important for me, Bob to talk in Techno-Speak so you can understand all of the facts about something. Do you like that? Techno Speak? I think it makes me sound very important that I know this kind of wording.
What I do know is that the wonderful people at Platinum Performance have sent us 100 samples of Canine Platinum Performane and 100 samples of Feline Platinum Performance, so we have all the bases covered with the doggies and kitties whose lucky parents will be attending our event and getting this wonderful Goody Bag.
I have recently learned that I, Bob, will not be asked to attend. Evidently Ida Lee Park has some rule about no dogs inside the Community Center, or something like that. I am terribly upset over this, so I am truly hoping that my Mom will be able to accurately report the event and be able to tell me what happened, and who won raffle items, who ate the most Fractured Prune Donuts and other important items. After all, I will be expected to Blog All About It, with no first hand experience.
Anyway. I'm still excited and all these boxes arriving are MAKING ME CRAZY.
Love and Licks,
Bob
