The Fractured Prune

It seems like I have been reporting on some serious items recently, and now, since it is Saturday, I have decided we need to have some fun.   And a donut.

We have been waiting and waiting and waiting for two things to happen in our town of Leesburg.   One is for our new Dog Park to open and that will be happening on May 9.

Two?  We have been waiting for THE FRACTURED PRUNE to open it's doors and that event has taken place.   We are officially in warm, homemade donut heaven.

I know that dogs aren't supposed to eat donuts, but I certainly don't think a small taste every now and then will hurt me, do you?  I guess to be on the safe side I should ask
Ms. Tracie Hotchner when she comes to our event NEXT FRIDAY, April 24.  Of course, on the off chance she will tell me NO, NO, NO......I might have to be really, really bad and ignore her.

How are donuts, The Dog Park at
Olde Izaak Walton Park and Tracie Hotchner connected to one another?
Listen carefully because I, Bob, am going to explain this to you.

Our new Leesburg Dog Park is located at Olde Izaak Walton Park and in order to get to that location, we must drive right past the driveway into the little shopping center where The Fractured Prune is now open.   So it would only seem fair that on your way to The Dog Park, you stop and have just one small donut.  Right?
This is a Black Forrest and it is my Mom's current favorite.

And then, when you are leaving The Dog Park and you are all tired and don't even know if you have the energy to drive all the way home, you could stop at  The Fractured Prune and perhaps have another small donut.
This time you could try a Creamsicle

or perhaps a Banana Nut Bread would be good?

I'm sure everyone is getting the idea here about how convenient it will be to eat donuts every time you go to The Dog Park.  Right?  And as for us dogs - we have planted a small seed at our Fractured Prune and perhaps they can come up with a Dog Donut --- something fine made just for us good dogs.    I think perhaps it could be called Bob's Leaping Lemon , cause this is how I feel when I have a nibble

Did you know you can create any flavor combination that you want?    So Leapin' Lemon or a Jumpin' Jelly or a Dancin' Dog . Or an Agility Apple.   Oh My.    But back to the link between The Fractured Prune, The Dog Park and Tracie Hotchner.

You now know how The Dog Park and The Prune are connected, and Tracie fits into the picture because at our wonderful charity event to benefit The Dog Park we are having a dessert reception after Ms. Tracie speaks.  And what will we be eating at that reception?  You got it.   Fractured Prune Donuts!   We have ordered at least 10 dozen and they will be delivered and they will still be warm and oh they will be so delicious.   Other fine dessert items will be on the menu for the one person in Leesburg who doesn't like donuts.    HA.

So.  Now you know how everyone fits so nicely together.   It's so exciting when things work out so conveniently, isn't it?      The Dog Park (Olde Izaak Walton Park), The Fractured Prune and The Evening with Tracie Hotchner.

What flavor will you be having?   Send me a comment and let me know what your combination choice might be and we'll see if we can arrange it.

Love and Licks,

Bob

Bob, Bob, Bob -- You are so terribly naughty. It's bad enough you blog about donuts, but did you have to include all those PICTURES??? There are only 2 places in all of Columbia TN where donuts may be bought -- one place has divine donuts but is only open limited hours (and is closed right now so I am going thru donut withdrawal), and the other place's initials are DD and they are DREADFUL -- the anti-donut!
BTW, I think the occasional donut will not hurt you. I think donut holes (you know, the little part of the donut that pops out when they make them) are designed ESPECIALLY for dogs. When I go to my favorite (only) donut place in town, I always get donut holes for my dogs. Tell your mom to pick you guys up some donut holes!
Your Bloggin' & Donut lovin' Buddy, Erich

    Dear Uncle Erich

You know I would have written back to you much sooner if my Mom had not been so busy with THE EVENT, which is, now over.  Deep breath.

I'm sorry that I tormented you with the donut photo graphs.   Perhaps you can write to the Prune People and tell them you are desperate for them to open near you.   Better still why do you not retire and open a franchise of your very own?  HA.    Mom says that if she owned a Prune Place she would explode.    I'm not sure what she means by that.

Thank you for the information about us having an occasional bite of donut or a donut hole.   I have been telling my friends that you said it was o.k.

    Love and Licks,
    Bob

Hey Bob you don't know me but my name is Cooper. When my mom has got time we sit down and read your blog together. You are such a good reporter............getting back on track does eating a donut hole count as having a small taste of a donut? I had one many many years ago. It was so-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o good. My mom checked to see if there was one of those prune donuts by us.........she had a great big smile on her face and said no......it didn't make me smile. It made me sad. I thought my mom liked donuts.........moms sure can be confusing at times. Bob keep up the good reporting. I'm going to keep an eye out for those donuts........Cooper

    Dear Cooper

I am always happy to meet a new friend and I hope you will read my Blogging all of the time.   Maybe you can send me your photo?

I have it on good authority that donut holes are acceptable food products for us dogs.   My friend Erich in Tennessee said that it would be very good for me to have an occasional donut hole from time to time.

Maybe your Mom is happy about the Fractured Prune NOT being around you because it is very bad for the waistlines of the humans.

    Love and Licks,

    Bob
