Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

I have been promising to Blog about all of the amazing and wonderful and generous people who donated Raffle Items for our Evening with Tracie Hotchner on April 24, and now, I am finally able to do that, as My Mom is mostly rested up and we are back to almost being normal in our home and office.    Once WillowBee arrives - later today maybe --- things won't stay so calm, I am afraid.

Let's start off with our friends at
SmartPak Canine  (although I must tell you that SmartPak also has Equine things also, so if any of my fans have some horses to care for, then you will want to check that out).

The people at SmartPak have a lot of wonderful products and can make your life pretty easy with something called on-stop shopping.  I am guessing that this saves a lot of wear and tear on your Mouse Person?   Anyway, they have invented something called a Daily-Dose SmartPak

Daily Dose SmartPaks provide a convenient, customized daily dose of the supplements and/or medications your dog needs, in a package sealed for freshness and labeled with their name. We'll ship you a 28 day supply every four weeks. Change or cancel anytime - there's never a commitment - only convenience! Great for multi-dog households, and dogs requiring multiple supplements per day.  The little packages are labeled with your dogs name and you can pick and choose the supplements and medicines you need to put in each little cup.

Isn't that a cool idea?   You can spend a lot of time at the SmartPak people's web site and learn all about them.

This is what these wonderful and generous people donated to our Raffle:
A Ruff-Wear Canine Float Coat, which I wanted but did not win.  I wanted this because last year I tried to swim and sank to the bottom of the pool.

A Pink Packable Bowl, A Bottom's Up Lifter Device that is seriously cool if you have a dog that needs a boost, A Safety Seat Belt Harness, Organic Cotton Collar, Bags on Board Set, Water Wooba Kong, Leather Coupler, A Pooch Pouch (Fanny Pak)
and....................... a Tug A Jug.   I really wanted to win the Tug A Jug, but Mom says she promises she will buy me one.

If you do not know what a Tug A-Jug is it is a "s
ee-through jug and scent holes allow treats to stimulate a dog's sense of sight and smell. Unique rubber wrap serves as a chew toy and cleans teeth. Base unscrews for easy loading of treats or kibble. Non-toxic plastic (bullet-proof material!) is virtually indestructible. Stands up to even the most aggressive chewers - we know, we've tested it! "

However..... with our theory of one picture is worth millions of words, this is what it looks like and I WANT IT.

I suspect that the dog in this picture is one of my PitBull friends, by the way.

SO A BIG THANK YOU FROM THE WONDERFUL SMARTPAK PEOPLE, and please, please, please tell them how much you appreciated all the raffle items AND the 100 bags of SmartPak Kibble that they donated to the Goody Bags too.

AND MOVING ON:  Our wonderful friend Ms. DanaMarie Hossler of GreenStar Studio   sent a little Knitimal and he found a very good home with Ms. Mary Harper who is also a BIG Supporter and Voluneer for our Dog Park.   I can't think of a better home for the little Knitimal, who had the name of Sprint.

If you don't know what a Knitimal is then you better fly away to DanaMarie's studio and visit with them cause they are little hand knitted works of love and art.   Here is a pile o' them but you can custom order and help create your own special style.  We love DanaMarie.  I think the little Sprint Knitimal was a greyhound.

Let's see.  Who is Next?

Well, we had two very special new products from The Inventor of Port-A-Poo
, which an amazing thing and one which we are going to give to a lot of friends and use ourselves.   Check them out!

In case you can't tell, this is a very handy little item, that snaps onto your leash, once the little bag is full of poop.  (or poo) (or whatever you would like to tastefully call it)    and then you DO NOT HAVE TO HOLD THE BAG WITH YOUR HAND WHILE YOU ARE WALKING.   Is this not an amazing invention?

And BTW if you are at the 9th annual Pet Fiesta in Reston on May 2 then you can visit the Port-A-Poo People

Wonderful Dr. Strickland and his Staff at Leesburg Veterinary Hospital donated a fantastic gift of 6-months supply of Frontline, so there "ain't no ticks on me"...... remember that song?  The people at Leesburg Vet are building a fantastic new facility in our town and they brought very beautiful pictures to show everyone.

And The Great People at Blue Ridge Vet Clinic in Purcellville donated TWO HUGE GIFT BASKETS:  One for a doggie family and one for a kitty family.

That was very special indeed:

And the biggest and most beautiful gift basket with Human Things and Dog Things and Cat Things came from TLC (The Life Center) our amazing new speciality practice and emergency hospital in Leesburg.  It was really, really, really heavy.

The LifeCentre, located in Leesburg, Virginia, is a premier veterinary center for both emergency care and specialized medical services by referral.  Our experienced doctors specializing in cardiology, critical care, dentistry and oral surgery, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and surgery are committed to providing extraordinary and compassionate care for animals, while TLC's in-house pharmacy, in-house MRI and CT scanner, high-tech laboratory, radiology facilities, and intensive care unit allows for comprehensive and efficient diagnosis and treatment.

SO A BIG, BIG THANK YOU TO TLC!    When our Princess Daisy was so sick, she went to TLC to see wonderful Dr. Tyrell, the cardiology man (and by the way he made a nice donation to the dog park, even though he couldn't come to hear Ms. Tracie talking)

MORE BASKETS CAME FROM  TOP DOG GROOMING SALON (who is, BTW right near the dog park and next to The Fractured Prune - how convenient is that)    and from Dog Gone Natural in Ashburn  and from The Reign of Cats and Dogs in Leesburg AND from Bark N Bubbles Dog Wash

AND LOTS OF GIFT CERTIFICATES WERE RAFFLED AWAY TOO!
One came from my Sis at EVERYTHING AND THE DOG -- and it was for $100  and a $50 certificate from Poo Bare (they pick up poop)  and keep things healthier for all of us  and two certificates for $25 each from FireWorks Pizza
which has nothing to do with pets, but everything to do with begging at the table if your Mom and Dad order one.
Oh, My.  Are they delicious.

And also a wonderful gift certificate from one of our wonderful Dog Walkers, Ms. Jewel Wessel, who is the Reiki Person who has saved my "bro" Rusty from a life of pain.   And one from Ms. Sherry at Healing Gateway

AND THEN our wonderful Luke Robinson and Hudon and Murphy from 2Dogs2000Miles  send two T-Shirts like this:
One was pink, and one was blue.  AND THEY SENT US 100 (YES, ONE HUNDRED) PUPPY UP BRACELETS.....one for each of The Goody Bags.

WOW.   I have spent a long time today with my Blogging because I tried to list EVERYONE who was so helpful and contributed so much of their time and their energy and their money to our special event.

But I cannot forget our Vendors (some special people that we asked to come and see Tracie and meet all our friends and to share information about their goods and services.

They were:

                                                           TOP DOG GROOMING SALON

AND FINALLY - WE COULD HAVE DONE NOTHING WITHOUT OUR FRIENDS AT NORDIC NATURALS

Nordic Naturals contributed well over 100 bottles of Omega-3 Pet so that everyone could take one home. This was a very, very, very generous thing for them to do.   Especially since it comes all the way from Norway.     AND they donated all of the wonderful burlap gift bags for the goody bags so everyone can take their nice burlap bag grocery shopping and help the environment.   SO THERE.

My family and I encourage you to visit all of the web-sites listed and to do business with as many of our vendors as you can.      Everyone contributed so much to this event and having Ms. Tracie Hotchner in our town was so wonderful and her presentation was so great.

My Mom and My Sis are almost back to normal now, and probably in about SIX MONTHS they might organize another event.   They are tired.   So am I.

Love and Licks,

Bob
..............event organizer Extra Ordinary
................... one tired reporter

OH AND BTW --- do not under any circumstances forget to read back some Blogging from the past month or so and you can learn more about a LOT OF OTHER COMPANIES WHO HELPED US MAKE THIS EVENT POSSIBLE.    And buy stuff from ALL of them.   O.K?  Promise?  Don't forget, or I will be sad.
