The Kiss
As some of my Twitter Friends know, I am about to give up on Isaboo Ray as a love interest.
I must admit, deep in my soul, that I had always doubted that Isaboo would ever write back to me. I figured that Isaboo would be kissing me at about the same point in time that Ellen DeGeneris would be dancing on stage with Hudson (of @HudsonandMurphy fame - you know 2Dogs2000miles
If the truth needs to come out (and it does, I know); then I suspect that Hudson has a darn good chance of waltzing with Ellen while I have absolutely slim to none when it even comes to getting within a paw-print away from Isaboo. That's just Life you know.
And then there was my quest a few week-end's ago to meet Roxie (from the Viva Vienna Festival). Since I do not know where Roxie lives, nor do I know her last name, or anything at all about her, then I think Roxie may have to be pawed off the list as well.
But here is one I think I might have a small chance with. Not only do I know where Jaime lives, but I know her prior Foster Mom Before She Got a Forever Home Mom.
Amanda was Jaime's Foster AND since I am a Tweeting Friend of said Mom-Amanda and said Mom-Amanda seems to really like me, Maybe, just Maybe I will get lucky. All I want is one small kiss. THIS IS JAIMIE:

This is what Amanada had to say when we asked her about her rescue working:
"I have been fostering dogs since 2006, mostly pit bulls and pit bull mixes. My black pit bull Rosco (my baby) came from a shelter in Ohio where they euthanize pits on arrival because they are illegal to own in that particular jurisdiction. Someone at Animal Control saw the soul in his beautiful brown eyes and sneaked him out of there into rescue, where he became my foster dog. It didn't take long for me to figure out he was never leaving.

My dog Farran was rescued with his 7 siblings as a puppy. As soon as they were old enough, they were dumped at a shelter in WV where they were tied to doghouses behind the building all through the winter months, with little to no human contact. Farran became my foster dog, and again, he never left.
I just rescued my other Jack Russell, Brad, back in January from a very high-kill shelter in Georgia. I called literally 5 minutes before his scheduled euthanization time and wired the fee to save him. He arrived via transport volunteers, riddled with intestinal worms and worst of all, heartworm. He was so skinny, his ribs and backbone protruded from his skin. After getting him treated for the heartworm, I decided he wasn't leaving, either. Good thing I have a big backyard!
Ruby, Niki, and Steve all came from a local shelter.
I have fostered dogs for rescues and most recently, a county shelter. Since my boy dogs are not particularly friendly with other boy dogs, I would take the girls with me to the shelter, and find out who had been there the longest. From that point, I'd take the time to test them with my girls, and if there were not any issues, I'd take them home with me. Throughout the time I had the dogs with me (on average about 3 months), I would housetrain them and obedience train them to the best of my ability. Adopting out happy, healthy dogs is the goal. When applications were received at the shelter for my foster dog, they would do the vet checks and landlord checks and then forward me the applications for review. At that point, I would contact the applicants for a phone interview, to determine if the dog was a good fit for them. Ultimately, it was my own discretion that decided who the adopter would be, but every place I've worked with has been different.
I do not currently have any foster dogs due to some personal circumstances, but I do continue to volunteer my time nearly every weekend on dog transports, where dogs from high-kill shelters in the south are transported to rescues in the north east via a network of volunteer drivers.
Jaime was stuck at the shelter for 3 months until I got to her. She was becoming depressed in her kennel, being overlooked as "just another red nosed pit". The day we took her home, we took her for a walk in a State Park near us, and she just looked so happy, and so fascinated with her surroundings. She was only estimated to be about 8 months to a year old at that time. I was snapping photos for use on her petfinder, and that was one of them. (The Black & White Photo Below) It just struck me as a really powerful image.
Jaime was eventually adopted by a couple with older teenagers who had just lost their dog to old age. They had heard all the nasty things about pit bulls, but wanted to find out for themselves after seeing Jaime's face. They decided to adopt her almost immediately, and still keep in contact to this day with all of Jaime's antics and adventures. It's really wonderful, I am so happy for her to have found the perfect forever home! She lives in New Jersey now.
I love that your dog's name is BOB. People always get a kick out of my dog STEVE because of his name. I have a thing for giving my dogs human names. LOL... Steve has been in a few calendars (his 3rd this year), and is actually Mr. June in The Unexpected Pit Bull calendar. He is also featured on their website at the top of this page: http://www.theunexpectedpitbull.com/stories with my daughter. These pictures of BOB are just stunning! I am attending college right now to get my BS in Photography and become a pet photographer. I also intend to work with shelters, photographing their animals for free as I have in the past, just without the degree. BOB is a really beautiful dog, and these photos capture him perfectly!

SO THIS IS ALL FROM MY NEWEST FRIEND AMANDA, AND WE LOVE HER. We told her all about my bestest friend and photo taker MS. BEV HOLLIS and I know that Amanda will have a fine career as a photo taker of dogs, just like our Ms. Bev.
Here are more pictures of Jaimie:

DO YOU NOT LOVE THIS WAY HER ONLY ONE EAR STICKS STRAIGHT UP???????
and still another:

BUT THIS IS MY VERY FAVORITE PHOTO GRAPH OF ALL TIME OF MY NEW LOVE:

New Jersey, where Jaimie lives now isn't all that far from Virginia, is it? Could I walk there? Probably not, but I bet my Mom and my Sister would take me on a Road Trip (complete with snacks and magazines). Do all of you agree with me? Are Jaimie and I not destined to have just ONE KISS?

I'm Jaime's Mama now. After my dog Shiloh passed away from cancer,I found myself unable to live without a four legged baby. My husband did his research and we looked at a few pictures of dogs in shelters and foster dogs. A few days after seeing Jaime's picture,my Shiloh came to me in a dream one night, and led me back to Jaime's picture-"That pink-nosed puppy." We met up with Amanda and our new love,Jaime. I fell in love, and we took her home. It took her (and us) a couple of weeks to get adjusted to each other and now I can't imagine my life without her. She brings us constant joy and happiness and I cannot imagine life without her! Amanda is an amazing woman for all she's given to these dogs. She deserves praise and thanks for her boundless energy and open heart.Without her,so many of these dogs wouldn't be given a second chance for a happy, healthy life filled with love. Thank you for all you've done and continue to do Amanda-and Jaime sends you kisses, wags and her classic 'pony jumps' she does when she's ecstatic!! Diane Strain(Jaime's 'forever home' Mama)
Thanks, Ms. Diane for filling us in on Jaime and how she came to be living with you. I think Jaime is one very, very lucky PitBull to have such wonderful parents and a new Forever Home.
Please give her a kiss for me,
Bob

I will kiss her for you Bob. I hope one day you can meet each other. She would love to meet you. She thinks you're adorable. Maybe you can come for a road trip this summer to the Jersey Shore. Although the humans don't let you on all of the beaches,I know of one where you two can go for a nice long walk and get to know each other...Until then,Jaime is dreaming of you...
