The Pet Postcard Project

So.
Everyone knows that I am collecting postcards.    And because of this, one of my Twitter Friends sent me the information about  THE PET POSTCARD PROJECT: Helping Shelter Animals One Postcard at a Time.    And now I will tell you all about this wonderful place so that everyone can send in their card and earn ONE POUND of food for every card that is submitted.

                                                                             

First of all, find your Mouse Person and make sure he has a cracker or two for the trip, and then ask him to fly you away to visit The Project     Here you will be able to see all about The Project and find the rules for making and sending in your postcard, but remember that your PostCard must be HomeMade.   This means getting your Mom or Dad or someone creative at your home to help you find a picture, glue stuff on it and embellish it however you want.     And your picture must belong to certain categories (advice, confessions, wishes or excuses):

The actual Dogvice, Catvice, Dog Confessions, Cat Confessions, Dog Wishes, Cat Wishes, Dog Excuses, and Cat Excuses postcards are approximately 4 by 6 inches in size (give or take) and feature a dog or cat that has a confession, advice, wish, or excuse for naughty behavior. These postcards are mailed in actual envelopes to:

I am going to let you guess which Category I selected for my card and what my confession actually was.    It's pretty funny if I do say so myself.      (Oh, and remember...... what happens in Leesburg doesn't always stay in Leesburg)

Do you wonder who has thought up this wonderful, wonderful project?  Meet Nikki:
                                                                                                                


And here is what we learned about her:    Nikki is a writer and well-known dog trainer, TV & Radio Personality and animal expert who splits her time between New York City and Miami Beach with her two rescued Schnauzer, Pepper & Ozzie and three parrots.  She is the author of eight books on dogs and 22 books on birds  plus five books on topics other than pets.   She currently writes for Dog Fancy Magazine, Popular Dogs and several other BowTie Publications, as well as for PetFinder.com.

The Pet Postcard Project is currently receiving help from Isaboo's Mom, Rachael Ray and her Nutrish "Food Raiser" Campaign.

Rachael has pledged 1 pound of dog food for each homemade postcard received in the mail by the Pet Postcard Project! The goal is to give 3 TONS of food to both Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue -- we need 6,000 cards! Please send in your cards today!

So.  I am hoping that you will join me in sending card(s) to this wonderful project and if you know about a pet food company who would like to join The Project and help out, please tell them to race their MousePerson to Ms. Nikki's web-site and contact her to get some details.

As you know, I have a lot of friends in the Pet Food Making Industry and I am certainly going to suggest to them that they see what they can do to help.  

And..... there are prizes for your postcards too, so if you think that you might like to win a prize, then you had better hurry and send in your card, because I honestly think that I might be the winner with my wonderful picture that was taken of me by our amazing        MS. BEV HOLLIS 


So, get out your photo graphs, get creative, and earn a pound of kibble for every single card that is sent in to Ms. Nikki at The Pet Postcard Project.
