Reflecting on Canine Cancer

Hi Everyone

You know how excited I am because I am finally going to meet my Heroes and friends, Hudson and Murphy of
2Dogs2000Miles   I just am so happy that they are coming all the way to Loudoun County, then to Leesburg, and that we are all going to be marching in D.C. on Friday, September 18, 2009.       Obviously more, much, more will follow, about this Historic Event, - probably the first ever CANINE CANCER CAUCUS

I wasn't exactly sure what a caucus was  ( I thought it might be making a lot of noise.... and Mom said that was pretty close, but that the noise making part was called a ruckus).     So a Caucus is (per my friends at Wikipedia) a meeting of supporters or members of a political party  or movement, especially in the United States. The exact definition varies among political cultures.

Pretty good, huh?   CANINE CANCER CAUCUS     I like it!

Very shortly, and hopefully that means later today, or maybe tomorrow, I will be sending you All the Details, All the News, All the Time.... (that's my new PitBull Boy Bloginator Motto -- do you just love it?), but I know that part of the ceremony is going to involve The Reflecting Pool, which looks like this.

It is our sincere hope to receive some kind donations of flowers and to have them there when everyone arrives at the pool, so that each person can drop a flower into the pool to represent someone they have loved to Cancer, canine, feline, or any other kind.   Would not that be a beautiful way to make a statement?

Cancer in companion animals is growing by such horrific numbers that soon our life spans are going to be shortened greatly by this awful disease and that is what 2Dogs 2000Miles is all about.   Raising money for research into the cause for canine cancer, but also raising the awareness of Everyone, world wide, that we must do something NOW to fight this.

I plan on living a long, long time as I have so much work to do and my Mom needs me with her, but it seems that almost every single day, we hear of more of our anipals passing away, as did our beloved Princess Daisy.   I am going to place a beautiful Daisy flower in the pool for her.

And you know what worries me?  Dogs are younger and younger when they develop canine cancer, and sometimes it us purebred dogs that are the most affected.   That would be awful if it happened to Bo, The First Dog, wouldn't it?    So I am thinking that if we are already in his back yard, maybe he can come and join us and put a flower in the Pond?   Or maybe he can come with his Mom, and talk to us at our talking spot?

We have a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, client named Ms. Gail who works part of the time in Mrs. Obama's office at The White House, so I am going to have my sis, Lydia, take this to Chessie's Mom, Ms. Gail, and ask her to please, please, please invite Mrs. Obama and Bo to join us on September 18.

Sometimes, in order to get some attention for a good cause that you really truly believe in with all of your heart and soul, it is good to have a well known person (or dog) on your side.   I can't think of a dog who could touch more people than Bo Obama and of course, I would like to meet him anyway.

I know he knows how to walk around on his leash now, cause I did find this photo

What do YOU think?  Don't you agree that having Bo come with us and listen to some talking and placing of flowers will be a very, very good idea.

This is probably the biggest thing I have ever done in the way of service to my Country and I am very proud of myself.    I am also very excited to go to Washington for this event.   It will be like that movie, except Mr. Bob Goes to Washington..... or maybe that will be Bob Gump?

Love and LIcks,

Bob
.........see you on September 18!
............... for a good cause
......................   let's find a cause and a cure
