Candlelight at The Dog Park

Last night's candlelight vigil and tree planting ceremony at Leesburg Dog Park was small, but really nice.   The park looked beautiful and LOTS of dogs got to meet Hudson and Murphy and our Mr. Big Dog himself, Luke Robinson.

Here was a picture of the activity at the park, prior to the ceremony:

Some of these guys are spinning so fast they are blurry!   And see the big one in the front who sort of looks like a small horse?  That's my friend Moose, whose Mom is Ms. Phoebe.     Moose and Ms. Phoebe are my friends who invented my very favorite toy in the entire known universe....... MY SQUEAKY BALL.

Ms. Phoebe brought a nice gift bag for Huds and Murph and they each got two Squeaky Balls for their very own.    Lucky guys.     But I have my own that Ms. Phoebe made for me, and I have them hidden in my bedroom, cause I squeak myself to sleep almost every single night.    If you don't know about  MY SQUEAKY BALL , then grab your Mouse Person and go check them out now.

Here is a picture of Ms. Phoebe & Moose with Mr. Luke and da' boys, as I call them.

See the little white bags on the ground?     We put little candle lights that ran on batteries into the bags and set them all along the path, so they glowed with a really pretty light and it was very magical.     Mr. Luke talked to everyone about why he is doing his walking and how much he loved his dog, Malcolm (who could only be with us in spirit), and then Lydia talked about our Princess Daisy and then everyone had a good cry.

Our wonderful friends, Simon and Kate Bland, came along also and Ms. Kate talked about their very special dogs, who were called Sammy and Maddie (also with us in spirit) and by that time, everybody was crying a lot more.    Mom didn't even open up her mouth, cause she told me later that she was afraid that if she started crying, she couldn't stop.  It is important to remember that even with sadness all around, that only good comes from hearts as big as Mr. Luke and that long after his walking was finished, people would be able to remember what he did to help along cancer research, so that maybe sometime we wouldn't have to worry about loosiing our friends to this awful disease.

So after the crying, there was also a lot of laughing about silly stuff and everyone went home with a happy heart.

If you can come to The Dog Swim this Saturday at Ida Lee Park, you could meet Ms. Phoebe and Moose and also Mr. Simon and Ms. Kate.      Mr. Simon makes beautiful portraits of pets and Ms. Kate is the person who is responsible for something called Wrapped in Kindness     Please take a few moments and go and visit Ms. Kate on her special cyberspace spot and see what Wrapped in Kindness is all about, cause you will be glad you did.     There is no better way to help yourself feel better, than if you help someone else with a need.  Ms. Kate and Wrapped in Kindness raise money to help pay for vet care when sometimes a person has no money to help their own furry family through a crisis.

You will be very happy if you can help Ms. Kate, because she is one very special person.      Just like Mr. Luke.   Someone Special.
A very good thing to be.

So it's been another happy day at our home, with our houseguests, Hudson, Murphy and their Papi.     We are going to be awfully sad when they have to hit the road once again.    I think that Hudson is going to miss our couch.   HA

We are hoping that everyone will come and meet our new bestest friends this Saturday, either at the Dog Swim here in Leesburg, or at Bark n' Bubbles in Ashburn, where Hudson is getting himself a BlueBerry facial and I am going to try to avoid having a bath.

Love and Licks,

Bob

    Hi Ms. Alicia

Nice to meet you.    When we come to our Big Charity Dog Washing Event this Saturday, the 12th, from 11-3pm, perhaps you can give me a BlueBerry facial?

I can tell you for sure that Hudson and Murphy are in very dire need of a bath!

Lily won't be joining the festivities this time around, but I (BO am going to be coming along and I'll be wearing my bright pink Puppy Up T-Shirt.

      See ya' then.
