My Friend Tracie Hotchner

I know you have all been wondering where I have been the last 12 days, and I'm sorry that I was not in a very good mood, so Blogging seemed to be out of the question.  It's always been my motto that it is hard to blog about sadness, and we have been sad in our home since October 31.

On October 31, our little Quaker Parrot Friend, Honey, had to fly off to The Rainbow Bridge and whereas we know she is living with our Princess Daisy, it was still a very hard thing to have happen to such a small (and young) little parrot.   Our office is so silent now.  Our Cockatoo, George, is very lonely, as are all of us.    We miss Honey and her loud squawking everytime we tried to talk on the telephone.

So I do hope that all of my friends will forgive me for taking some time off to re-group.  Mom says we needed it.

But, as some famous person says........ "I'm Baaaaccckkkkkkk".   HA.   That's a joke, I think.     But I am back to work now and ready to get on with my life and the life that is going on around me.

So as a Welcome Back, Bob, present to myself, I want to tell you some exciting news from our friend Tracie Hotchner.    You know that Tracie already has two wonderful radio shows?  One is Dog Talk which is  Tracie’s first radio show, and
DOG TALK®  is on NPR station 88.3 from Southampton, New York and  has been broadcasting for nearly 5 years.  That's a long time.

Tracie’s second show,
CAT CHAT® just had its 3rd anniversary on the Martha Stewart Channel of SiriusXM satellite radio and is the only show in the country where Cats Come First.  (I suppose that kitties need to come in first on a regular basis and even though we don't talk about them all that much on our blogging, we do love the kitties in our lives).

So Tracie has a THIRD show now and this one is called
Dog Talk AND Cat Chat AND  you can wake up your Mouse Person right now and have him fly you off to the new web site to learn all about the show.  Here is what we learned and want to share with you about the new show:

What the Show is All About

Tracie is a passionate advocate for the proper care and feeding of dogs and cats, and all the many other ways to create a physical well-being and emotional harmony for the pets who share our lives. The world of companion animals has such a barrage of commercial selling and so many little-understood issues, that people are deafened by all the noise out there yet often lacking in the ability to sift through it all and find what will work for them. On the show Tracie explores everything from the joys of a new puppy or kitten and all the possible “mine fields” to avoid – right to dealing with the death of a pet and even the “hereafter.” [A regular segment on the show will be the Official Animal Communicator, Ann Marie Sawicki, who has repeatedly made such astonishing connections for people with their pets (those still here and those who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge) that she has made a believer of even a skeptic like Tracie!]

Whether it is pet nutrition you are interested in (what to feed your dog or cat is what Tracie has dedicated the last five years of her life to researching, and has gone across the country lecturing about) or training issues with your dog, picking and raising a puppy, out-of-litter-box events with your cat or inappropriate scratching – introducing a new kitten into your household or introducing a new baby to your dog, all of it is covered in the show. And every week is full of surprises for Tracie, too, because she takes questions on everything from animal medical issues to nutrition and behavior and gives callers the kind of firm, solid, clear advice that is all too lacking in the pet world today.

Tracie's Partners on the Air

DOG TALK® & CAT CHAT® is Tracie’s newest radio show and incorporates all of her commitment to the welfare of our companion animals – along with two dynamic New York City partners to incorporate some of the most impressive and dedicated pet advocates in the city onto her team. The Animal Medical Center is a non-profit teaching hospital right in Manhattan with 90 veterinarians on staff and another 36 board-certified specialized veterinarians so that the hospital is also able to handle every possible malady that can befall a pet. AMC is the Official veterinary Partner of the show and their specialists will appear on air discussing their specialty and educating pet owners. The Official Shelter of the show is Bideawee, a long established and respected shelter right in Manhattan with low cost spay and neuter and veterinary care along with the adoption center. There are two other Bideawee locations, one in Westhampton which is also a shelter with further services and another Bideawee in Wantagh which is where their renowned Pet Memorial Park is located.

So that is our friend, Tracie.    I really don't know anyone who could possibly be more busy than she is, but she is really someone worth knowing about, and all of her shows are a MUST if you want to keep up on all the latest news.

And guess what?  My sister, Lydia, is going to be on Tracies CAT CHAT on December 2nd and on DOG TALK on December 19th.   Lydia, as always, will have exciting things to share with everyone.

Love and LIcks,

Your Friend
Bob

    Darling Bob
What a love letter this blog was to me and my new show
Thank goodness I am such a fan of your sister Lydia that I had already invited her on my other radio shows to talk about Best Friends in Utah BEFORE you made such a nice fuss over me. I guess I'll have to invite her on this new WOR show, too! Thanks for being such a devoted friend. I really feel your sadness about Honey and know that she is flapping her wings (once over the rainbow Bridge I believe the clipped wings can fly again - but you'll have to ask Daisy about that)
