A Moment of Silence, A Time of Sadness

Yesterday we heard the awful news that our friend Stephen Huneck (who I never met, but I KNOW I would have loved), took his own life on January 7th at only 60 years of age.

Not only was Mr. Stephen the best ever dog artist  (and he drew a lot of the WillowBee type dogs, so that's another reason I know he would have loved our family), but he built the
The Dog Chapel, a place “that celebrated the spiritual bond we have with our dogs, and that would be open to dogs and people. People of any faith or belief system.”

We have blogged about The Dog Chapel in the past, and it was always a hope of my Mom and my Sis, Lydia, that someday they would take a road trip to Vermont and see The Chapel itself.  They can still do that, of course, but  now, it will seem sad to be there without this wonderful caring man in the world.

We have given away a lot of copies of the wonderful book, called The Dog Chapel, to our friends who have lost someone they really loved because just looking at the book makes us all feel better.

But here is the real place and it is so beautiful, that you really must go and see it for yourself, if you can.

So today we are sad.      Our very dear friends Anne Good of AG Out Loud (the Blog that you will love)  and Miss Moira McLaughlin  of  Dog Art Today (another Blog you will love)  have both posted wonderful Blogs about Mr. Stephen and our loss.   I ask you nicely to go and visit their blogging and read what they had to say, look at all the pictures and then take a moment to say a little prayer for Mr. Stephen, his family and his friends.

Surely he is now with our Princess Daisy and will be doing very important work at The Rainbow Bridge.    That's what I want to believe.

Love and Licks,

Bob
......... very sad today
