Blogathon #15: Fur Baby Food Bank

And now, I would like to tell  you all about Fur Baby Food Bank  and give away yet another wonderful prize!

This is what you will learn when you go to visit our friends at
Fur Baby

FurBaby Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, providing temporary pet food assistance to residents of Loudoun County and surrounding areas. The Food Bank started in 2009 by our founder Jennifer Du Plessis, after she saw an increase in people needing short-term help with the cost of their animals to prevent them from losing their animals to shelters or abandonment.

We are dedicated to providing assistance to pet owners facing hardship. We hope to help keep pets at home, instead of being abandoned. Local shelters and animal control report a 35% increase in owner surrenders over last year. Worse...if the shelters are full and cannot take in the pets the pets are many times just dropped off or left in the parking lot to fend for themselves.

A donation in $5 increments would help feed two or more cats for a month, or feed one or more medium sized dogs for two to three weeks. Without our dedicated sponsors, donors, and community, we couldn't continue to help those facing tough decisions. Please consider making a donation or volunteering today.

Here is the Wish List and donation information:

Donations are tax deductible and receipts are provided upon request.

Without your support, thousands of pets would go hungry or become homeless simply because their owners were having short-term financial difficulties. We simply couldn't give out this amount of pet food assistance without the help of generous donors, sponsors, supporters, and volunteers. Please consider making a pet food or cash donation, so we may help as many people keep their pets as possible.

I've never heard of Fur Baby - what a great idea! Sometimes people just need a little bit of help to get over the "hump". And just this little bit of aid can help keep pups in their home.
Thanks for blogging tonight - you guys rock!
