Blogathon #5: Meet Our Friends
I want all of my friends to know about our wonderful vet, Dr. Krisi Erwin and her wonderful and compassionate service which you can visit if you wake up your Mouse Person, and ask it nicely to take you to visit Dr. Krisi at Wholistic Paws Veterinary Services
Dr. Krisi also works at Leesburg Veterinary Hospital with one of other ALL time favorite vets in the whole world, Dr. Michael Strickland.

We have been seeing Dr. Strickland every since we got our first baby Bulldog, who was named Dahlia. Little Dahlia was very, very sick when she came to live with us and she is now an Angel at the Rainbow Bridge. When Dr. Strickland took care of her, we immediately knew that this was a man who truly loved his patients and since then, Dr. Strickland has looked after lots of our family members.
In case you are wondering what Dr. S looks like, here he is:
Doesn't he just look happy? So anyway, in addition to Dr. S. we love Dr. Krisi, and what is NOT to love about her:

Dr. Krisi takes care of my little sister, Lily of the Valley. Unfortunately our Lily has a seizure disorder and we don't quite know what the cause of that could be, but with Dr. Krisi's help, Lily is doing pretty well.
So Dr. Krisi is a pretty busy person, because in addition to her work with Dr. Strickland, she also founded Wholistic Paws.
Wholistic Paws Veterinary Services was created by Dr. Krisi Erwin and her husband, Jeremy, to provide the following services in the comfort and dignity of your own home:
So if you are interested in learning more about Dr.Krisi, we do encourage you to visit her web-site and talk to her about her services. This is what Dr. Krisi has to say:"At Wholistic Paws, it is our goal and commitment to work with you and your veterinarian to provide additional care for your pets that your regular veterinarian may not be able to offer. Throughout the course of care, your veterinarian will be kept informed and involved in the treatment that your pet is receiving. Think of us as one more "tool" to help improve your pet's quality of life and to provide an enriching, loving, and special end of life experience for your pet when the time is appropriate."
Dr. Strickland and Dr. Krisi are also very involved with the annual Pet Remembrance
Candle Lighting Ceremony and if you have not attended this in the past, you should really do so this year. We always attend to honor all the wonderful pets who have touched our lives.
The Pet Remembrance Candle Lighting Ceremony was started by the Nikki Hospice Foundation for Pets in partnership with the Benicia Vallejo Humane Society in California. The first ceremony was held on March 5, 2005.
It is the hope of these two organizations that pet lovers all over the world will participate in this special ceremony honoring all beloved pets who have passed on, are lost, or have been separated from their families. They encourage pet lovers to attend similar local events or simply join them by lighting a candle at home for one hour at 7:00pm local time on March 5.
The ceremony was brought to Loudoun County in 2009 by Dr. Krisi Erwin, working in conjunction with Leesburg Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Erwin helped to continue the tradition in 2010 with the help of several members of the community and St. James' Episcopal Church in Leesburg. We hope that the tradition will continue each year so that pet lovers will have a safe place to come together in celebration of the pet angels that have shared their lives. We hope to make this service an act of love for our community and a tribute to our wonderful companion animals.
Mark your calendar for the next ceremony!
