Saffron: 2 Squirrels: 0

I want to tell you about my friend, Saffron, who is on a mission to rid her neighborhood of Pesky Squirrels.    When she is finished with her home territory, perhaps she can come up here and help us out.

My Mom says that one picture is worth a thousand of my words, so let's start by taking a look at the photo that Saffie's Mom sent to me:

I would like to tell you that this a stuffed toy that Miss Saffron, Squirrel Killer, is carrying home with her, but it is very real.    Well.  It WAS real at some point.  Now it is just very DEAD.

It seems that somehow or another, and in spite of the fact that she is on a leash, Saffron has the speed and agility to not only get close to the squirrels in her yard, but can,  --- as you can see, catch them.    Mom says she is happy that she is not the two-leg on the other end of the leash when Saffron takes off.

This is the second time Saffie has accomplished this feat and frankly, she isn't very big on letting go, once she has captured her prey.      Her Mom and Dad evidently had a heck of a time getting them away from her, and Saffron refused to share with her brother, Nigel, either.

Yipes.   I thought that my "sister' WillowBee was fast, but this is really quite an accomplishment if you ask me.      Sort of makes our Beijing Kitty look like an amateur with her tiny little mice and mole collection.  Yuck.

And by the way, if you are wondering what Saffron's bro, Nigel, is doing while Saffron is "out hunting".... here is the scoop on him:

--- contrary to what you may be thinking this is not a stuffed creature either.... but is in fact a quite sleepy SharPei.      When it comes to sleeping in, Nigel has totally mastered the art.    Too bad you can't see his smoopy (is that a word?) little face, as he is quite nice looking when awake.

I have very interesting friends, don't you think?

Love and Licks,

Bob

Saffron & Nigel are both very cute! I must say that IS fast if Saffie can catch a squirrel while on a leassh, nonetheless!
