Lily Bug has left the Building
Today is a very, very sad day in our lives. Once again, we have had to say good-bye to our beloved companion. This time it is our LIly of The Valley, or Lily Bug as we called her.

There just aren't enough words to use to talk about how wonderful our Lily was (and still is --- she is just in a different place right now).
We totally invite you to visit our friend, Bev Hollis, who is an amazing photographer, at www.bevhollisphoto.com
Bev knew Lily from the minute she came to live with us and she has done the most amazing Memorial Blog to our girl.
Our friend, Ellen Zangla, met Lily later in life. Her photos of LIly are equally wonderful, just different.
I have picked this one, as it is so very Lily.
If you didn't know, our Lily of the Valley had a seizure disorder that really couldn't be identified, but we just think that Lily was sent to us becaue God knew that this was a home where she could be safe, loved and cared for. Perhaps our Princess Daisy, who many of you knew from her initial blogging, needed an Assistant at The RainBow Bridge. Maybe, Daisy just felt we were not properly schooling Lily in the art of being a total Princess. Who knows.
Our friend in Tennesse, Erich, sent us this wonderful e-mail:
God bless Lily Bug. Sometimes life is so unfair. On top of your sad news I want to add something good to maybe lighten your heart a little -- a friend of mine received a new heart today at Baylor Medical in Dallas. He has been waiting for several years and was upgraded to 1A (meaning find a heart NOW) a month ago because it was looking so grim. He is in ICU but the heart is beating well and this will hopefully give him, his wife, and his 3 little kids a new start in life.
Maybe Lily Bug and Princess Daisy will send down some good vibes to him to keep him safe.
I am so sorry about Lily.
What if Lily and Princess Daisy engineered this entire thing? What if they were totally responsible for Erich's friend and his new heart? The Universe works in some totally mysterious ways that none of us will ever know about.
All I know right now is that I miss my baby girl. I threw up today and have spent most of the day in my box. We will all be o.k. but right now this is just too hard.
Love and Licks,
Bob

Dear Bob,
So sorry to hear about Lily, I'm sure she is now learning how to be a true princess with Daisy by her side. Maybe she's playing with my sister Casey. I know how hard it is to lose a sister but my mom says they are always with us and that they are watching over us. Sending thoughts of comfort and sympathy to you and your family....

Dear Bob, my heart goes out to you and your whole family. I can only imagine how much you must miss Lily.
I had a wonderful Lily girl, too, a beautiful border collie. It's so hard to lose our beloved companions.
All I can say to Lily is run fast, run free, and revel in all the comfort and colors where you are.

Bob - Thank you for letting your readers know about your family's loss. I am so, so sorry for all of you. I know that you are all the biggest dog-lovinest family in Loudoun County and the bunnies, Briga, and I can't imagine how heavy your hearts are. We are truly sorry for you, your Mom, your sister Lydia, and the rest of your family.

Oh, Bob & Family,
We just now saw this post and are so sorry you have lost Lily Bug so soon. Gosh, she was still a baby, really. We had no idea she had a seizure disorder and feel badly we didn't see this post yesterday.
Our deepest condolences to you and your family; it is always so hard to lose one of our beautiful furry children. I'll bet Lily & Daisy have a lot to talk about, but it doesn't make it any easier for the ones here on earth who miss them so dearly.
Love, Blazer & Mom

I am just so sorry you lost your Lily. When our Rottie, Kassi, lost her brother Sam, a Husky, she was very sad too.
But, a few months later she was given a new sister, Laney, and they have become the best of friends and Kassi is not sad anymore. Though I still miss my Sam something awful sometimes.
Kassi and Laney send doggie hugs and licks your way.

Didn't know until yesterday you lost Lily. So sad. But, I guess, there are reasons for everything. Wish it didn't have to always be that way, but...
So please watch this video, as it shows just how adorable baby bulldogs are and how sometimes we wish they didn't grow up...
