Pet Sitting on Easter Sunday
Since today is Easter Sunday, I think it is pretty funny that my Mom and my Sister, Lydia, who made their rounds together this morning, had some pretty incredible Easter Clients.
They started the morning off with a visit to a dog and cat, so that was pretty normal with the exception of the fact that the Kitty and the Dog were obviously working together and hoping for Easter Treats, so in the night last night when no one was watching, the Cat knocked an entire jar full of Kitty Greenies off the counter and onto the floor where the Dog was able to retrieve the jar and break off the lid. No Kitty Greenies left in that jar! They said that the Easter Bunny stopped by and it was his idea, but we don't believe them.
Next stop a darling little Yorkie, who is probably the world's cutest little dog. He had been a perfect angel and nothing was out of the ordinary there, although he did wonder why he had not seen the Easter Bunny at his home. We told him that he was probably just asleep and missed it, so he got an extra Old Mother Hubbard Biscuit.
Then on to the first client who had really gotten into the Easter Spirit. Lydia and Mom share this client because it takes both of them over an hour to do a good job. Why? 65 birds, plus or minus a few at any given point in time, that's why. Mom and Lydia have a wonderful system and manage to give everyone lots of TLC while feeding, watering, changing papers, etc. etc. etc.
But wait ----- guess what was on the bottom of one of the bird cages? AN EGG! Yep, and since so far they have never encountered an egg while caring for the birdies, it was quite a surprise. It was a tiny little thing and Mom said it wasn't fertile (whatever that means) cause all the birdies in that cage were girls. But still --- it is Easter Sunday so that was a nice little gift!
Next on the list...... Peking Ducks and a Flemish Giant Rabbit named Sophie. Yes indeed. Ducks and a real Easter Bunny! Here is proof:
Here are the ducks, but we can't tell you what their names are.... We just call them Duck One and Duck Two. And guess what was in their nice little crate with them? Yep. AN EGG. Let me tell you this one was considerably bigger than the birdie egg, and Lydia brought it home to Mr. Pat who said he would be eating it. I think Mom and Lydia will let him do that all by himself.
And here is Sophie:

My Mom says we need a Rabbit in our home! Sophie is as big as a small dog and considerably bigger than our cat, Beijing, and she is totally sweet and loves to have her ears scratched. Her fur is very, very soft and I just can't imagine anything more special than being able to care for The Easter Bunny on Easter Sunday!
Happy Easter to everyone!
Love,
Bob
---- really DO NOT want any ducks or bunnies in my home
--------------- and we have plenty of our own birds too!
My idea of the Easter Bunny, thanks!
