Lydia at Scooby Medina in Spain

Well after one day delay because of the weather and the inability of their plane to take off from Dulles, my sis, Lydia and our good friend Diane are off to Scooby Medina in Spain

As you probably know from reading my Blogging, this is NOT a vacation, but instead is a rescue mission in more ways than one.

Diane and Lydia will be bringing some dogs back to the United States in the next few days I will post pictures of them for you to see.

But in the meantime, I just want all of you to go out to the Scooby Website  and read all of the information about them.   This is NOT like Best Friends in Utah.    These poor people are doing wonderful work with very, very little money and not a fully staffed vet clinic.

This morning, first thing, Lydia and Diane wound up helping in surgery and if you know anything at all about my Sis, you must know that she is terrified of needles.   I was worried that she wouldn't go and get the proper shots to fly to a foreign country.       But she is one brave woman and she did what she had to do.   I think that all the dogs who had to have emergency surgery this morning will be o.k.

Here is Austin and my sis was with him the whole time this morning while he got all patched back together:

I think Austen looks like he is a pretty tough guy.... but just in case, can everyone say some prayers for him?

I just can hardly talk about Scooby Medina, all of the dogs there and the Spanish Galgo in general.
My eyes get all cloudy and I have to take a break.

This is Kryo.  All he really wants is someone to throw the ball, throw the ball, throw the ball, throw the ball.

The really, really, really desperate need at Scooby Medina in Spain is for food.

Food is pretty cheap in Spain and Lydia and Diane have already gone to buy as much as they can, but if you can donate food or money, PLEASE  do it now.

If you want to arrange to ship food, you can send an e-mail to    iane@scoobymedina.com contentEditable=false href="mailtoiane@scoobymedina.com" unselectable="on">Diane@scoobymedina.com   and Miss Diane will send you the directions on how to help.   I think that you need to ship to Germany and then the Scooby people go to pick it up, but you know it would be a LOT faster for you to send some money.   You can say that your donation is to be MARKED FOR FOOD and believe me the people at Scooby are only to happy to go grocery shopping.

When Lydia gets home we are going to pack up a bunch of food and send to them.

Please be sure that you log on to our web-site at Everything & The Dog  and you can read Lydia's Journal entries and see more pictures.     Wait till you see the Patio Dogs.

Off on another trip to Scooby

I can't believe that I will be leaving for Scooby in less than 10 hours today-April 27. This year I will be going with 2 new volunteers. One is a board member of Scooby North America and the other is a volunteer who is also adopting a galgo.

We will be bringing home 4 galgos all adopted through Scooby North America. We can't wait for them to go to their forever homes. Their new homes are located in San Jose, CA; El Paso, TX; Ellicott City, MD; and Quakertown, PA.

Besides this blog, you can read an additional blog by subscribing to "Daisy and Bob's Blog" blog.everythingandthedog.com/. This is a wonderful blog even if they aren't writing about Scooby. Bob is so full of wonderful information I know you will enjoy reading his stories and advice.

See you soon from Spain!

Wasn't that nice of Miss Diane to say that I was a good blogger?

So every day starting today, I will be trying to tell everyone about Lydia and Diane and Scooby and how you can help, and I will try to send some pictures every day also.

Please, please, please help the dogs in Spain at Scooby.     They need our support so badly and they need to know that people in the United States care about them.

Love and Licks,

Bob
