Another Day as Scooby: Heartbreak & Happiness

I think Lydia and Diane are starting to getting use to being cold and wet and dirty and living on pizza which probably isn't too good in the first place, but you know what?  From what I can tell them are HAPPY.

They met some dogs today that are going to have happy endings and that is always the very best news, isn't it.

This happy boy doesn't have a name (at least one we know of), but he has been adopted and will leave for a new home in German very soon.     Lydia said that she spent quite a bit of time with him this morning, paying tug and watching him chase his tail which is obviously one of his favorit sports.     We are SO HAPPY that he will be having a wonderful new home before he knows it.

Here is a pictue of two who are headed off to Canada!    They will have a wonderful like together we just know it and we hopt they will send us postcards so we can follow their progress:

I'm pretty sure this a Mom and her daughter but I'll ask Miss Diane and find out for you.

Diane was busy this morning tracking down the Galgos and making friends with all of them:   Here is one picture of her with two of her new friends:

Galgos are the sweetest and most loving dogs you could ever meet.   It is as if a grateful gene has been included in their make-up and they immediately recognize who is going to help them and they just melt.    It just breaks my heart to see how thin they are and how badly they need good nutrious food, so as I said in my last BLOGGING please talk to everyone you know and ask them to help with getting some food or money for food over to Scooby.

Here is another HAPPY ENDING ---- I have to tell you some happiness because it is very difficult to Blog when one is crying.    So this is MOLLY
:
Molly has been adoipted by one of the workers at Scooby so she will be staying in Spain but being an Ambassadar of Good Will at Scooby.
                     You rock Molly!

In case you are having any difficulty getting to Lydia's Journal on our web-site at
www.everythingandthedog.com, I did want to share what she wrote about today:

So at Scooby Medina there aren't just cats and dogs, but there are also lots of different farm animals. Those that know me well know I grew up on a farm so I hold pigs, chickens, sheep, goats and the like very close to my heart.

Today we went out to the back part of Scooby to check on and socialize with all the other kind of critters that live here. We walked through gate after gate into field after field of all different animals. At Scooby they have bunnies, doves, raccoons, ducks and geese, some giant pigs, donkeys, goats, sheep and miniature and regular size horses.

I hear there are some bulls as well so I will have to go looking for them tomorrow.

We also checked on the perimeter dogs. These are the dogs that live in double fenced runs all along the perimeter of the property to keep intruders away.

I have heard lots of stories about the gypsies that are around here. They try to steal things from Scooby including puppies. It is all very sad.

So back to the farm animals. So we were out in this huge pasture and all of a sudden the skies opened up and it started pouring. Probably one of the hardest rains I have ever experienced. First we had to huddle under a shelter with the donkeys and horses. Then the rain gave up a little so we started grainy back only to have it start raining again. This time we made some geese very unhappy by intruding into their shelter.

We got soaked but it was worth it to see all these amazing animals.

My Mom says if we know our Sister as well as we think we do, her very favorite farm animal must have been a pig, and sure enought here was one she discovered:

I just know tht she has named it by now and will be checking it out every day.    Look-out Mr. Pat, you better hope a piggie doesn't come home with our Miss Lyd.    HA

So that it is for today, my kind, kind friends.   Please get out your check-books and count  your penny jars.
Send some money to Scooby if you can.   If you think you can help bring back some dogs to live wonderful lives here in our country, contact Miss Diane and do it.   You can reach her at   iane@scoobymedina.com contentEditable=false href="mailtoiane@scoobymedina.com" unselectable="on" originalPath="mailtoiane@scoobymedina.com" originalAttribute="href">Diane@scoobymedina.com
