Viva! Vienna!, Part One

This coming week-end is Memorial Day Week-End and that is always a fun time because then we know that Summer will be starting and as far as I am concerned, I much prefer Summer.      Frankly, I am just a bit over all our rain and then the snow and cold, gloomy weather we had this past Winter.

And Memorial Day, means it is time for Viva! Vienna!, a festival that we look forward to every year, but this year we are really, really excited because Everything & The Dog  is going to have a whole new look at our booth and we are hoping that all of our friends will be coming to see us.     We got a new LOGO this year and we have BIG signs to show it off.

Also our wonderful friend Ellen Zangla  has made us huge poster size pictures of some of our four leg friends and you will be able to see her amazing photographs too.

I heard from my Mom that she and I won't be able to attend the festivites because we have been elected to stay here and "hold down the fort", but you will be able to meet my beautiful sister, Lydia, and Mr. Pat and talk to them about how wonderful I am.   Please don't forget to remind them about that when you see them.      HA.

Vienna's historic Freeman House, which is pictured above, Old Vienna W&OD Trail and Church Streets at Dominio are the primary setting for the festival, which is sponsored by The Rotary Club of Vienna and we hope you will support The Rotary people because this is their major fund raising event of every year and they do a lot of good things with that money.

Did you know that Rotary International is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

Now you know.    I like to be able to share.

But back to the fun stuff.    Food.     There will be lots of great food and I am hoping that Lydia brings me home a "doggy bag"    HA.      There will be pizza and barbecue and hot dogs and hamburgers and italian sausages and Thai food and Lebanese food and Chilean food and popcorn (which I love) and kettle corn (which I used to love but I am over that one) and funnel cakes (which are always helpful) and shaved ice treats and cotton candy (which frankly I think is disgusting) and candied applies and homemade ice cream and oh boy.     When is lunch?

And guess what else?   Our friend Phoebe  who is also the Chief Ball Girl at My Squeaky Ball  will be at the festival and I hope you will stop and see her and my pal, Moose, who will probably be in attendance.

If you see Moose, tell him Bob says "hi"........... actually - I hate to admit it, but I am a bit intimidated by Moose.  He is, as befits his breed, quite large.   They don't call them GREAT Danes for nothing.     But since he is always accompanied by his bag o' balls, I like to hang around him in case one falls out and slips away and I can grab it.    My Squeaky Ball is my all time favorite toy in the entire universe.    Really.      And Ms. Phoebe didn't try to bribe me or anything to say that.   It is true.

                                             So don't forget!

Sunday, May 29th and Monday, May 30th

                                  Viva! Vienna!

Tell EVERYONE
that your Best Boy Bloginator and PitBull Reporter Extra Ordinary (not to mention a Phenomenon) sent you!

Love and Licks,

BOB
