Bob The Dog

You know that recently I have been blogging about art and photo graphing and telling you that I am now a famous Artist Model Extra Ordinary.

Well, today my Mouse Person was flying around in cyberspace so we could find some interesting stuff, and we discovered the most amazing piece of news:

In case you do not know, this is a real photo graph of Billy The Kid.   Well actually, it is what is called a tin type, but in any event, it is believed to be the only surviving, authenticated portrait of Billy the Kid and it went up for auction in Denver on Saturday, June 25th  and sold for more than $2.3 million.

This is a lot more than the Kate Middleton Jelly Bean that I told you about a few months ago.   Lots more.

The tintype was sold to private collector William Koch at Brian Lebel's 22nd Annual Old West Show & Auction, where auction spokeswoman Melissa McCracken said the image of the 1800s outlaw was the most expensive piece ever sold at the event   (no kidding!)

The tintype is believed to have been taken in 1879 or 1880 in Fort Sumner, N.M. It shows Kid standing with his hand resting on a Winchester carbine on his right side and a Colt revolver holstered on his left side.

Yipes.     So what I want to know is this?     Do you think that photo graphs of me, Bob The Dog, will ever sell for millions of dollars?       Mom says there is little chance or as she put it, about as much chance as a Snowball's Chance in Hell.

But I am betting that when Billy got his picture taken  (which cost him 25 cents, by the way), his Mom sure as heck told him that not only would it not be selling anytime soon, but that in her opinion, it was time for him to turn over a new leaf and be a better person.     Ha.

So I guess the moral of this story is that you should never throw anything away, because who knows what it might be worth in a couple of hundred years?      Can anybody tell me what the return on your investment would be if you paid 25 cents for something that later sold for 2.3 million dollars?   Just curious and wondering if I should save up some quarters in case a good offer comes along.

Love and Licks,
