June Happenings
I thought we would try something different and tell you some things about the Month of June when the month is almost over, instead of when it is beginning.
This way you will have lots of time to plan for next year's Month of June. I think this is an excellent idea, because it takes a lot of planning to get anything done around our house. Ha.
So June was Adopt a Cat Month. I'm not normally all that terribly interested in cats, but since Beijing joined our family about a year ago, I must admit that I do find them a bit more interesting.

I have to tell you that when Beijing first came to live with us, I was just a little bit afraid of her. After all, just look at her eyes. She has mastered the art of staring at you until you are totally convinced that perhaps your hair is on fire on something.
Now, I totally love Beijing. I think that perhaps she thinks she might be a dog. That's what I love about her.
So anyway, Happy Adopt a Cat Month.
And, June 24 of every year is Take Your Dog to Work Day. I go to work every single day of my life, so June 24th is not all that much different for me, but I know it is a big deal for a lot of dogs. Take Your Dog to Work Day now has it's very own web-site so in anticipation of next year, you can go and check it out.
I thought it would be fun to ask the cats what they did when the dog went to work last week. It took my Mouse Person quite a bit of time to turn up the answer, but keeping in mind that you can find anything on the Internet these days, we were able to discover a list of Ten Reasons Why Cats Like Take Your Dog to Work Day.
This list was put together by CAT Stanley, the CATalyst Council's official spokescat. Cat lovers may want to check out the web-site for The CatAlyst Council which is a very interesting organization, we think. Actually, Cat Stanley is very interesting and worth the trip just to meet him.

June has a lot of interesting things going on, so in preparation for next year, keep this in mind:
And today, June 29th, is perhaps the most important event of all of them. Always celebrated on June 29th each year, TODAY IS WAFFLE IRON DAY.

I wonder if we could make Beijing a CatFood Waffle?
Love, Bob

- Your midday nap will not be interrupted by incessant, frenzied yapping sparked by the mail carrier's arrival. Or a squirrel in the yard. Or the wind blowing the tree leaves. Or absolutely nothing at all.
- Getting the couch all to yourself. Enough said.
- A respite from the tedious licking. (I mean, really…if they're going to lick, at least they could make themselves useful and groom something.)
- No sliding in the drool puddles left behind on the tile floor.
- No mile-wide water spills around the dog bowl.
- You'll finally get to eat your own food. All of it. No sharing.
- No "I get to go outside and you don't…nyah, nyah, nyah."
- A rare opportunity to use the dog bed as a scratching post. Or litterbox – it's your choice.
- Being spared the humiliation of the most base of all canine greetings: the infamous and oh-so-annoying Butt Sniff. How uncivilized.
- Finally, peace and quiet when nature calls, and no fear of some crazy canine with questionable culinary habits raiding the litterbox when you're finished.

Two things...
1) My birthday is in June... you didn't put that on your list!
2) I hope you're not planning on putting Beijing in the waffle iron as the 'cat food'!!!
Love you lots and lots, Bob!
I'm sorry I left your Birthday off of my list, Ms. Phee. I will squeak My Squeaky Ball several times in your honor. And no, I think I will keep Beijing Kitty away from the Waffle Iron.
Love,
Bob
