I Love a Parade

Today is the Fourth of July!!!!   Happy Birthday to us!    235 years - wow.     In dog years that would be 1645 years which is very old.    I know of no dog who has made it that long.  HA.

There is a lot of stuff going on in Washington, D.C. on this day and if you can find your Mouse Person who is probably hiding from Beijing Kitty, you could have him fly you across cyberspace to visit
Metromix.Com  which is a very good list of all the things going on.

I am particularly interested in the Big Parade that is held every year in our Capital, and I really, really, really wanted to go and march in it, but Mom says she is tired and it is too hot.   Yipes.     No fun for Bob today I guess.     The best part of this parade is that if you just wake up in the morning and decide it is a good day to march in a parade, you can just go and do it.   You don't have to register or be official about anything.   Now that is what I call a PARADE!

I am actually wanting to join a marching band.

     We heard someone from D.C.'s
Different Drummers talking on the public radio this morning and I think it would be a lot of fun to march with them.

Do you think that maybe I could send them an e-mail and that maybe someone would come and pick me up next year and I could be their mascot?      I think that a Marching Band that plans on playing Lady GaGa tunes in the Fourth of July parade needs to have me, Bob, Blogging PitBull Boy Reporter as their mascot, don't you?

Or maybe the BagPipe People need a mascot?    I guess I could ask them too, just in case the Different Drumming People are too busy to come pick me up.

If I went with the BagPipe People, I guess I would need a skirt however.    I don't know if I can pull that off, but maybe Mom could find me a collar in the right plaid color and that would work.   I'll have to figure this out soon in case they both call me for next year and I need to make a decision.

Then again, maybe the Flag Line People would need me.

These are some very fine outfits, and I know I could figure out how to carry a flag like this as I marched beside someone.

This is very confusing, as I really don't know who I should ask to let me join their group.     I definately am leaning toward the marching band playing Lady GaGa however.     I think that is really more my style.

Mom says she thinks I am setting my sights just a bit too high, and that maybe I should figure out a way to march with some of my dog friends in the Leesburg annual Independence Day Parade which will begin at Ida Lee Park at 10am, travel down King Street and conclude at Fairfax Street.

I guess that would work for me, but only if my Group of Marching Dogs can have Lady GaGa as our music person.

I'll have to work on this one, I think.     By next year, I'm sure I will have it all figured out.

Love and Licks,

Bob

I added this picture in case The Different Drumming People, who are still my first choice, decide to call me and arrange for me to join them next year.       I KNOW it would really add to their drumming if I was the mascot.
