Free Bob, Part Two

Day Two and Bob is still in captivity.

He will remain in my control until I am satisfied that all of his fans are helping to free him by following the directions I am sending out.

Yesterday I told you about two events you could attend at The Kings Tavern on Loudoun Street in Leesburg, Virginia, on July 12th and on July 14th.     All you have to do is attend, drop $10 in the donation bowl for The Humane Society of Loudoun County, and listen to great Dixieland Jazz.    Is that so hard?

Just so you know I am serious about this, please observe as I sharpen my claws before going in to visit my captive.     But don't worry, so long as he behaves himself, there will be no need for me to smack him.

I have been asked about the Financial Assistance Fund offered by The Humane Society of Loudoun County and so I wanted to tell you that this fund provides veterinary and other animal related funding for Loudoun County resident's animals in need.    There is a Financial Assistance Application which must be completed and based on the income level and other areas specified on the application, HSLC  can either provide complete funding for surgery, spay/neuter, veterinary care, food, etc. or partial funding.

This program only assists animals of Loudoun County residents and all funding is provided directly to a veterinarian.  Food donations are distributed to those in need as well.

So you see that by holding Bob captive, I am only helping the people of Loudoun County.   I am not an Evil Kitty.      I have a heart.       I just have to keep Bob locked up until I can spread the word.  That's all.       I really won't hurt him.

And here is another thing you can do this week-end to help Free Bob.

Petco has an amazing in-store only offer that will only last from 7/8-11 to 7/10/11.

You get two FREE cans of Royal Canin cat food with your purchases this week-end and for each two cans free that Petco gives to you, then the wonderful people at Royal Canin will donate two more cans to the Petco Foundation for a homeless cat.

This is a wonderful opportunity to help a lot of homeless kitties, so please do your Petco Shopping as soon as possible.

My Grammy, who happens to be the Mother of the Boy Wonder Bloginator,  said that the lady at her cash register said that they are telling people who don't have a kitty to take the free cans, and put them in a big box by the door, and then our Petco Store will take all those cans to our local shelters here in Leesburg.

So now I have told you TWO ways that you can help to free your beloved Bob.

But I wanted to add some more information about the two Dixieland Jazz Events.   Yesterday I told you that you could buy raffle tickets and that the proceeds from those tickets would help the HSLC Financial Assistance Fund, but do you want to know what one of the raffle prizes is?

Of course you do.

$100 Gift Certificate from all of us at
                                                                                        EVERYTHING & THE DOG

With summer travel coming up, that will come in very handy for the lucky winner.

Tomorrow I may give you some more information on how you can help to Free Bob.   Frankly, keeping him captive is becominng very trying as he is constantly complaining and asking for a potty break, and I'm getting just a bit tired of listening to him.      I believe I will be quite happy to free him once I have satisfied myself that his friends are wanting him back.

Purr,

Beijing Kitty

I hope you are taking good care of your "captive." He's a good egg and deserves better than "prison conditions."

While the bunnies and I are no longer living in the area, but are in Lexington, Kentucky for a year (where there is no such thing as Everything and the Dog and we are feeling like spoiled brats who are finally being told "no, you can't have that" because there isn't), I have instructed my husband Bill, who is still living in Virginia, to attend the fundraiser in order to free Mr. Bob. We really want him freed.

Let us know if we can just send a check somewhere to pay his ransom, er, make a donation . . . Say "hay" to Bob for us. We miss his blogs already. I'm not saying that you're not doing a good job, because you are a gifted blogger, but we really like Bob's natural enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity about the world.

    Your friend,
    Melinda

Well miss you, Ms. Melinda.      I have decided to free him tomorrow morning.   He is a terrible nuisance.    Just awful.    A big baby.

As for your desire to make a donation to The Humane Society of Loudoun County, if you would like to send us a check, we will be very, very happy to deliver it to Ms. Kim Fields who is one of our wonderful pet sitters at Everything & The Dog    Ms. Kim can then take this, IN PERSON, to her next meeting of the volunteering people and deliver it in your name and in Bob's.
