July: Half Over
See what a hard job being a Blogging PitBull can be? Having to decide big issues like this is very difficult and I am already tired.
As I like to do, I have discovered that the Month of July is very special for a lot of reasons. July is, after all:
Anti-Boredom Month * National Baked Bean Month * National Blueberry Month
National Foreign Language Month * National Hot Dog Month * National Ice Cream Month
National Picnic Month * National Parks and Recreation Month
Please note that National Hot Dog Month is in red letters. That is because I already blogged about Hot Dogs. I was actually blogging about the Fourth of July being ASSOCIATED with Hot Dogs, but I certainly have covered that subject quite well, and if you need a refresher, you can go back and read all about Hot Dogs.
Hot Dogs go well with Baked Beans, so I am glad that some thoughtful person put those two months together.
I like baked beans. I like the way my Mom makes them and sometimes she gives me just a tiny little spoonful. She says that too many beans would NOT be good for my digestion. She says I should stick to yogurt.
I also like baked beans because of a company called Bush's

I like the Bush company because they have a Secret Family and they have a dog.
The dog is named Duke. Here he is:
Duke's Dad is named Jay.
Here is Jay:
The problem is that Jay knows the Secret Family Recipe and one day because he just HAD to tell someone, he told Duke. Ha. He didn't know Duke could talk and so ever since, Duke has been trying to find a way to sell the Family Secret. This is what Duke has to say:
"Jay and I have been friends for a long time. Back when Jay shared the Secret Family Recipe for Bush's Baked Beans with me, his best friend, he didn't know that I could speak. And ever since, I've been trying to sell the recipe — I just can't help myself sometimes! When I am not busy with my "hobby", I also get to go places with Jay and meet all our loyal Bush's Beans fans. I love every minute of it! It's great being part of the Bush's family."
So of course, I think I need to meet Duke. What do you think? I bet that Duke would be really happy to share the Secret Family Recipe with me, Bob. Don't you? I think that together Duke and I would make a very good team. Duke can tell me the secret and I can BLOG it! Ta-Dah.
Duke even has an entire Video...... which you can watch if you can convince your Mouse Person to take you to see the Beautiful Bean Footage Be careful which half of the day you watch this in because it will make you hungry for some beans, I can tell you that.
And get this: Duke even has his own Museum. Well, Bush's has a Museum, but Duke has a lot to do with it (after all, how many talking dogs are out there selling beans?). The Museum is in Chestnut Hill which is in the State of Tennessee. The Bush Family has a cafe, a General Store, and of course the Museum, where you can
- See the Bush's Theater, featuring Jay Bush and his dog Duke on the big screen as they star in the fun-loving movie "History of Grilling"
- Take a walk through a giant replica can of Bush's Baked Beans, showing the bean's journey from beginning to end
- Get a view into Duke's Doghouse for a behind-the-scenes look at Duke's antics
- Learn your weight in beans and snap a photo with Duke
- Learn about tools from Bush's original canning process in 1908
- View a timeline of Bush Brothers & Company; how the company changed with the times and reached customers, as well as the local community, throughout the years
I am especially anxious to learn my weight in beans, aren't you?
This is very, very valuable information.
So this takes care of TWO of the special things that July is good for..... Hot Dogs and Baked Beans. Oh wait --- three things. Anti-Boredom Month.
How could you possibly be bored when you have Blogs from Bob to look forward to?
Love and Licks,
Bob
