Smudge in the Garden

Even though I sometimes complain about having to put up with my little sister, Smudge, I still think she is pretty darn cute.    In fact, I challenge anyone to a duel if they think otherwise.  I still haven't had my Mani-Pedi, so dueling with me wouldn't be advisable at this time.

It seems that Smudge is very, very fond of flowers.     I like them too..... everyone has seen the picture that has my nose in the daffodil, but I truly do like flowers and the chance to give a good sniff every now and then is never passed up.    Smudge was obviously listening to me when I gave her my list of fun things to do in life.    Flower sniffing being high on the list.

Remembering too, that a picture is worth one thousand words  (according to Mom, that is), here are some Smudgie Photos which were taken by our great friend
, Ms. Ellen Zangla

This was taken when Smudgie was only a tiny baby, and she rather much was in semi-shock when someone sat her down amidst the daffodils and told her to smile.    We like to think of this shot as Smudgie doing her imitation of Yard Art.

Then the little Lupin Flowers started to pop up, and Smudgie grew a little, but she still has that look about her that says --- "oops, I bet I'm not supposed to be standing here on top of these flowers."

And then Smudgie-Roo discovered The Peony.     After this no flower will be safe from her little nose.

DayLillies.... check!                Trumpet Vines - Double Check!

Then Smudge discovered the raised beds at the back of the garden.   I guess she figured that there would be something really wonderful up there, if she could only get to it.

We didn't have the heart to tell her that those were only tomatoes and whereas they were great for eating, sniffing, not so much.

So after all that hard work in the garden - running from plant to plant is extremely tiring -- not to mention climbing so high up into the tomatoes, Smudgie felt that she deserved a nice cool drink.

Nothing satisfies the way a tall glass of ice tea does!   Right Smudge?

Later this week, look for the Adventures of Smudge and Evil Kitty, documented through the lens of Ms. Ellen Zangla  .    And let me just say that if you are in the market for some wonderful picture taking, then you should call Ms. Ellen right away.      She says that I need to rest up because in August it will be MY turn.     Hopefully there will still be some flowers in bloom!

Love and Licks,
