Blogging Buddies & Kevin Bacon

The very best part about my Blogging Business is that I get to meet so many new friends and so I wanted to introduce you to one of them.   This is Seamus

And this is Seamus' Mom, whose name is Teresa

Ms. Teresa writes a wonderful Blog which is called:

The Dog Lived (and so will I)

The dog beat cancer; I beat cancer; On with life.

If you can locate your Mouse Person (I have to keep searching for mine every since the dog-napping incident, as he is convinced that Evil Beijing Kitty is looking for him)..... then ask him very nicely to take you to Ms. Teresa's Blogging

I am pretty sure that Ms. Teresa found us via my friends Hudson & Murphy of 2Dogs, 2000Miles but Mom says that following who met who where and when is like playing 6 Degrees of Separation (whatever that is), and for all we know Ms. Teresa met us via Kevin Bacon.

Of course, when Mom tells me stuff like this, I immediately become totally confused and completely over-whelmed and have to make my Mouse Person work like crazy.   Thank Goodness for Wikipedia, cause we were able to find out what the heck she is talking about.

Here it is - in a nutshell  (and yes, I know what a nutshell is)....

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a trivia game based on the concept of the small world phenomenon and rests on the assumption that any individual can be linked through his or her film roles to actor Kevin Bacon within six steps. The name of the game is a play on the "six degrees of separation" concept. In 2007, Bacon started a charitable organization named SixDegrees.org.

The game requires a group of players to try to connect any individual to Kevin Bacon as quickly as possible and in as few links as possible. The fantasy author-editor Richard Gilliam devised his Movie Links online game in 1990, and it was played extensively on GEnie for years before the quite similar Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game was promoted in 1994. Gilliam's game is much more difficult in that a player is required to find the shortest number of movies linking actors as diverse as, say, John Bunny and Chris Farley, rather than continual links to the same specific actor.

So now I have the definition of this expression, but that doesn't mean I understand it.  Two legs are just so not logical sometimes.

Anyway, back to Seamus and his Mom.     They are BOTH cancer survivors and that is wonderful news.   The fact that they BOTH offer hope (and some laughter too) for others who may be in the same boat, is the really wonderful thing about them and their Blogging.

So --- go and visit Ms. Teresa and Seamus, and tell them that Bob sent you  (unless you think Kevin Bacon did it.)

Love and Licks,

Bob

Hey, thanks Bob! (And Seamus would like blogging lessons...actually, lessons on how to wrench control of the computer away from his person.) I think I may have found you through the Coffee & Canines blog. It's also possible Kevin Bacon introduced us. Although in our house, anything to do with bacon is pretty quickly devoured by Seamus the now-even-more Famous.

So let me get this straight. You haven't actually met Kevin Bacon yet? I came all the way over and find out you don't even know him? What a disappointment. It's a good thing you are so funny or I'd be peeved.
