Ouch! When Ears get Sick
I am pretty proud of the fact that I am four and one half years old now and I am very, very healthy. Mom says that means I have good jeans, but I don't remember ever having a pair of them.
Other than that little run in I had with some rat poison when I was just a little baby, I have never really had to go to the vet-doctor except just to get some shots and that kind of stuff. But now, I am SICK. My ears are really SICK. In fact there are multiple things "growing" in my ears, most of which I am sure I caught from my stupid brother Rusty, who has lots of fungus growing on him all the time. Mom says it is not the same at all. Rusty apparantely has allergies which cause some yeast stuff to grow, but Mom says she seriously doubts that anything crawled off of Rusty and into my ears. She says it is just one of those things.
So yesterday, on Saturday, I had to go to the Leesburg Veterinary Hospital to meet my new doctor, who is named Dr. Tucker. And let me tell you, I am one lucky PitBull because Dr. Tucker loves PitBulls. He also loves the Redskins, but I didn't tell him he would probably have better luck sticking with us Pits.

This is a picture of my new friend, and you can tell it is him because his name is on his coat. I think that is always helpful. Maybe I need a white coat like that to go with the jeans I can't find.
Anyway, I am now a very happy dog because Dr. Tucker treated me like I was his true and long lost friend and he even trimmed my toe-nails, which as you know, I have been complaining about for quite some time. Dr. Tucker doesn't normally do nail trims, I can assure you of that - but for me, Bob - obviously nothing was too good as far as he was concerned.
I will admit that it was terribly painful when he poked a needle in my butt, but then we figured out that if someone let me stick my nose in the corner of the room, and covered my eyes, that future needle sticks wouldn't be too awful. So at that point, I even allowed him to drain off some of my blood. I'm not at all sure why we needed to do that, but Mom says it has something to do with Lyme Disease, which I do not want to have.
So I am all shot up, and I have nice toes, and I have medicine for my ears for every single day, two times a day for three whole weeks. I am going to be getting a lot of extra kisses for my wonderful behaviour too. If I have to have sick ears, the least I can do is try to cooperate with them so they get better.
So not only did I get to meet a new friend and someone who is an obviously wonderful vet-doctor, I also got to tour the NEW Leesburg Vet Offices and let me tell you, they are really beautiful.

This is what the outside looks like - and fortunately for me it is practically next door to my home - because I am very proud to welcome them to our "neighborhood"........

This is what the inside looks like when you first come inside........ it is very cheerful. And you know what else? They have a fireplace! How cozy is that? I don't think they will be building any fires in it for many months, but still, I think that is very home like, and our friend Dr. Strickland who thought all of this up and worked very hard to build this building really deserves everyone to thank him for making such a fine place to be if you happen to be sick. (Or if you just need to get a little check-up..... which is hopefully all that I will be going in for in the future, as having sick ears is really quite awful).
And GUESS WHAT ELSE?
Our wonderful friend, Ms. Ellen Zangla took pictures of all of the animals of all of the Staff in the hospital AND they are hanging all over the walls. They are very beautiful. But just for fun, Ms. Ellen also hung up this picture of my Sister, Smudge:
So when you go to see Dr. Strickland, Dr. Erwin, Dr. Tucker or any of the other wonderful doctors and staff at Leesburg Veterinary Hospital, you can look at Smudge and say ---- "that's Blogging Bob's sister"........ and then, will you please ask them why MY picture is not hanging up on the wall?
Geeze. That is the only thing I could find wrong with the entire place. There was no picture of me. Obviously, that will need to change.
Love and Licks,
Bob
