Traffic Jam of the Century

As everyone knows (I think), I live in Leesburg, Virginia.

And yesterday here in Leesburg we had a lot of excitement.

It seems that America's 911 Foundation sponsors an annual Memorial Motocycle Ride and as this year is the 10th anniversary of the awful events that took place September 11, 2001, the ride was HUGE.
No kidding.   I mean REALLY BIG!

Unless you happened to be one of the watcher's yesterday, you have no idea how really, really long this group of rider's really is.    We heard that the convoy was 15 miles long, but as it passed through downtown Leesburg yesterday, it seems like it was hundred's of miles long.

As you know, my Mom, walks dogs for our wonderful company Everything & The Dog  and one of her clients has a back yard that sits on King Street.   Mom happened to be at their home when the convoy hit town.     There were sirens from police cars and fire engines, helicopters overhead and above all else the constant roar of motorcycle engines.      WOW.

Unfortunately this did not make for a comfortable walking atmosphere for the poor little baby Corgi that Mom was trying to walk around.    Finally they just quit and went into his house so his little ears could rest.

BUT.    This is for a wonderful cause, and you really need to get your Mouse Person to fly you away to visit the America's 911 Foundation  website and see if you can donate some money to this cause which is about remembering the Heroes, Volunteers and Victims who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and since.

Mouse Person is very good at his job of finding pictures and information for me, and we found a place where we could virtually stand and watch the "parade" as it came down King Street   (Mom said she couldn't get close enough to watch in real life).

If you click your own Mouse Person right here on THIS SPOT  you can watch the excitement.   I wonder if the barefoot lady in the pink skirt can even raise her arm this morning after all the waving that she did.

I am so glad that we were able to watch this event, even if we had to do it in cyber space.

Love and Licks,

I wonder if I could find myself a motorcycle for next year.

If these guys can do it.... I am pretty sure I can.    All I have to do is find someone who wants a Boy Bloginator for a helper.

Thanks for posting that.We live in Rhode Island and my husband was a 26 year member of a local fire dept. The 9/11 tragedy hit him very hard because as you know all firefighters are brothers no matter what part of the country they work in. I don't know if he knows about this ride, but I will be sure to share it with him.
BTW: I think you would look really good riding in a sidecar. Get yourself a driver , Bob.
