---- and now a Hurricane?

I have so many things to worry about.   Do I need yet another?   I think not, but obviously, Mother Nature is cruel and she has sent us Hurrican Irene.

It was bad enough that we had a major Earthquake which rattled my crate (and my teeth), but now it would seem that we are going to be drenched.

I begged and pleaded with MOPE, my poor scared Mouse Person, and he agreed that before he headed for higher ground, we could scout around and try to figure out what is happening with Hurricane Irene.

We have discovered a very unique site called Watts Up With That?  and it would appear that anything you want to know about Science, Nature, etc. etc. etc.  you can find here.   And there are lots of interactive thingamagidgets to play with --- for example, you can actually track Irene, but if you ask me, that might be a little more information than I need right now.

I don't know if I got this Widget to work from my Blogging, but just go up a bit and click on Mr. Watts web site and you can borrow his.     As I said, I am afraid to look.

I took a look at this map and that was enough to scare me silly.    What if this thing goes off course and finds my house in Leesburg, Virginia?

Mom says that she thinks we might just get a lot of rain between Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 2pm, but I saw what it said at the top of the map......   see that?   Hazardous conditions can occur "outside of the cone".   Oh my.  This is not good at all.

I heard on our radio that the Governors of Virginia and Maryland have declared a State of Emergency  and officials in Ocean City, Maryland which is not all that far from my home, have told everyone to "get out of dodge".  Everyone.   Oh yipes.       What if all those people come here?  That might be worse than the storm.    Oh my.

There are only about 7000 permanent residents of Ocean City, but right now there are about 150,000 people there on vacation.    Those people are not going to be happy that they have to move to someplace else, and if they decide to tour Wine Country, Virginia, they might wind up on our door-step, practically.

Maybe I need to go to Pennsylvania and visit my Aunt Jenny-Girl.   Or I could go to Colorado and visit my two leg brother, Marshall.

I guess I have until tomorrow to keep tracking this BIG STORM of the CENTURY and decide if I need to re-locate.

Love and Licks,

Bob
----- not looking forward to being blown away by Irene

If there is the slightest chance you will have unusually bad weather, get out! From personal experience...a hurricane can take a very slight jog at the last minute and hit where not expected. Being on the west side of storm is the best. The east side, as it churns counter clockwise, gets most of the water. If it is dangerous and you stay, you put not only yourself in danger but also the lives of first responders.
