Butterfly Kisses
I am pretty excited right now, because I just discovered that I have a new girl-friend and her name is Abbie. Abbie lives in Iowa (I think they grow corn in Iowa, don't they? And don't they sometimes make BaseBall playing places in the middle of the corn fields?).
I got the very best ever comment on my Blogging directly from Abbie and I am so excited I asked Mom to print out a copy and hang it near my crate so I can remember to write to Abbie from time to time. Mom says maybe it is time to start me a Scrapbook, so I can keep my friends near and dear.
So first things first, here is the letter than Abby sent to me:
Bob, I wanted to let you know that my mom has spent the last few months catching up on your blog and telling me all about it. I know I am far away, in Iowa, but I admire you from far away. We have many things in common, I am also what they think is a Pitt Bull. I can jump VERY high, especially out my back door. I also dislike getting my nails trimmed and recently shunned my mom for an entire day when she cut one nail. To top it off, I currently have a bulldog type dog living with us. Mom says we are just fostering her until she gets better, but I am starting to have my doubts.
This bulldog mix, Sweet Pea, has her OWN blog, gets to go all sorts of fun places, gets special food, and really sometimes just drives me up a wall. I feel like you "get me" from your stories. I look forward to reading more about you and your adventures, and learning about all of your friends.
Since mom hasn't bothered to start my blog yet, I guess you can look at Sweet Peas and find pictures of me there. I am the one with the big ears...which make up for your sometimes lack of ears.
Butterfly kisses,
Abbie
PS I hope you don't mind a slightly younger girl...I am only 3 years old at best, and in great shape if I do say so myself.
Well of course, the very first thing I had to do was find my Mouse Person, wake him up, and ask him to take us through cyberspace so we could locate Abbie's foster sisters blog in the hopes of finding
some pictures and some more information on Abbie (and SweetPea too) Here is ABBIE:

Let me tell you that I am thinking that Abbie has a very gorgeous body and OH MY. Those are some ears. I think that somewhere in Abbie's family tree, a French Bulldog fell in love with a PitBull and that Abbie was the result. As you can read in her letter to me, Abbie kindly offered to lend me some of her ears on the days when mine go missing.
Like now:

My ears have always been something that bothers me a lot. Some times they just flop backwards and stick to the sides of my head, like in this picture. Sometimes the insides of my ears turn BRIGHT PINK
and I mean BRIGHT. It's very embarrasing to have to explain to people that no, I do not have an allergy issue, I am just worried about something.
Another thing I like about Abbie is her jumping ability, although I really doubt she can go as high as I can from four paws on the floor to this:

If Abbie ever gets to come to our area, or I can go to visit her in Iowa, we could have a jump-off. HA.
Here is a picture of Abbie's Foster Sister, Sweet Pea, and if you want to learn all about Sweetpea and her journey, plus the good working being done in Iowa by some great people, then please put your Mouse Person to work and see if you can't help out just a little.

So Abbie's letter to me is one of those things that Mom says "starts the ball rolling"...... maybe someone here in Northern Virginia will read about this and want to have SweetPea come to live with them. Or maybe one of my friends went to school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and they want to help the Critter Crusaders with the good work that they do. And of course it goes without saying that this rescue place, just like so many others, needs money to help them continue to do the good work that they do.
Only one thing I am worrying about however. Butterfly Kisses. MOPE, my Mouse Person, and I went cyber-sailing and we did find a pretty cool definition on an advice for teen-agers site. They said that a Butterfly Kiss is a kiss that does not involve the lips. It is when two people put their eyes close to each other and flutter their eyelashes. Think blinking really fast while pressing your face to another person.
I was worried that perhaps this would involve Abbie shipping me a bunch of butterflies from Iowa who would all fly here at one time and want to kiss me. I simply can not imagine what I would do if I was suddenly confronted with a lot of bugs, regardless of the fact that some of them are quite attractive.
I will have to do a lot of thinking about this one and decide if it is something that I want to try. As Mom says --- "the jury is still out" on that one.
Love and Licks,
Bob
----- so happy to meet you Abbie cause you are truly beautiful
------------ please keep your Butterflies in Iowa for the time being

Oh Bob, you make me blush. I am so glad you are a fan of my ears. I bet you wouldn't even chew on them like everyone else seems to try to do.
I am going to practice my jumping and see if Mom can get a picture.
Until then,
Abbie
