Beijing Kitty

When my cat, Beijing, first came to live at our home, I didn't like her.     OK.    That really isn't a true statement.  I was terrified of her.
She picked on me constantly.      She and Rusty and Scarlett would play together in the driveway, but Beijing would watch me carefully and everytime I tried to have a bit of privacy and "go potty" in the woods, she would race past me and run up a tree.  I swear she was laughing at me.

But my Mom was very careful and kept insisting that if I would just relax, that it would be very helpful to have a friend who was a cat.     I couldn't possibly imagine what Beijing could do that would help me in any way, unless she would stop racing up the trees just as I was about to poop.

Finally, and I am not even sure now, how it came to be, but one day, I put on my big-boy collar, and I went right up and took a really big sniff of Beijing's silly face.    And you know what?   She put out her tongue and she gave me a kiss.    I was so shocked I had to sit down.     And then she stopped chasing me, and let me go potty in peace.

Mom says that like all peace treaties, there has to be a turning point, and that was it.      And now?    I would defend my Beijing Kitty with my life.   She is my bestest cat friend in the entire world.   Well, actually, she is the only cat I really know, but still....... you understand.

I have decided that our Pit Bull Pals Club needs to have an Honorary Cat for a Member.    And because I am The President, I have elected Beijing.    I hope that our membership doesn't mind, but I feel pretty confident that any dog who met Beijing would immediately become a fan.      Mom says it is probably because Beijing thinks she is really part dog.   I just think it is because she is the BEST CAT IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.

AND.   I must say that my sister, Lydia, has done a pretty terrific job with the taking of this photo graph.     She has "an app for that".    HA.

Love and Licks,

Bob
