Beijing's Kitty Klub
Beijing is driving me absolutely crazy. You know I really do like her (most of the time), but ever since that trick of her's where she held me hostage for three whole days over some stupid cause that I can't even remember, I don't completely trust her.
Besides, she still has that stupid habit of racing past me and running up a tree just as I am about to relieve myself in the woods. Geeze. But she comes in handy too.
She sleeps inside the office in the cold weather, and she seems to love my crate. So when Mom and I come to work on these cold mornings, my bed is all toasty and warm. Of course, it also has cat hairs in it, but that isn't so bad. I have to tell you that sometimes Beijing-Kitty comes inside with us if it is raining or snowing or something, and spends the greater part of the gloomy days curled up fast asleep somewhere (or eyeing our birdcages).
Mom puts me in my crate when she leaves for any long period of time and last week, she came back, opened my door and out wandered Beijing, then me. HA. Bejing had been sleeping inside my box when Mom popped me in there, and Mom didn't notice. What the heck. It was nice to cuddle with a warm cat.
Well anyway, ever since I started my Pit Bull Pals Club, Beijing has been moaning and growning about how she has no friends. I finally told her I would try to round her up a few.
SO HERE IS CHESHIRE (THE KING)

Chesire is one of our Everything & The Dog clients and lives in River Creek, here in Leesburg, Virginia, with his Mom and Dad, Ms. Therese and Mr. George. Cheshire has a long history with us, as do his parents.
When my Sister, Lydia, started our company, many years ago, Ms. Therese and Mr. George had Cricket (a Cocker Spaniel) and Tuxedo (a black and white kitty). As things happen, Cricket and Tuxie had some business to attend to at The Rainbow Bridge and left poor Ms. Therese and Mr. George with an "empty nest". At the same time, my Mom had a client who had quite a few kitties and one of them was Cheshire. Unfortunately, Cheshire lived in a blended household, (sort of like the Brady Bunch) and the other cats picked upon him terribly. He was very sad. His then Mom asked my Mom if perhaps we knew of a nice home with no other kitties in residence that perhaps Cheshire could come to live in peace and tranquility. End of story. Cheshire, in a manner of speaking, "hit the jackpot".
Not only was his new home perfect in every way, when Ms. Therese redecorated not too long ago, she got new carpet that matched Cheshire's fur. HA.
So we don't exactly know how old The King is, but he is getting up there now as he has allowed Ms. Therese and Mr. George to live with him for many good years now.
Sometimes my Sister or my Mom go to visit him and take care of him while his parents are away, but usually his sitter is named Miss Kim. Let me tell you, if you want someone to watch over you, Miss Kim is your gal. AND whereas she loves dogs, of course, she is what my Mom calls a total CAT PERSON. I asked Mom if Miss Kim had a special suit to wear and Mom laughed and said --- "No, Bob. I said cat PERSON, not CATWOMAN".
Cheshire got his nickname (The King) because he truly is royalty. In his own mind of course. He rules his home with an iron paw and poor Ms. Therese and Mr. George just do whatever they are told. Seems to me that this is the way it is with cats.
Some one once told me:
Dogs have Masters; Cats have Slaves
Oh boy, is that the truth. And by the way.............. if you ever want to spend a fun few hours, grab your Mouse Person, and fly over to Wikiquote If you need a quote about any subject, this is the place to be.
Here is one, I especially like:
Do not meddle in the affairs of cats, for they are subtle and will pee on your computer.

So. If you have a cat that you think might enjoy being in the spot-light (more than usual, I mean), please feel free to comment, or you can always e-mail me directly at bloggingbob2007@gmail.com. I will pass the information along to Beijing and hopefully she will stop complaining about her social status.
Love and Licks,
Bob

A day for those of us who feel like we’re tasked with the impossible, Cat Herders Day recognises the frustration of trying to manage the unmanageable. Whether it’s work, home, school or other areas of life, if it feels like herding cats, today’s your day.
